Reviews

France released, PAL/Region 0 DVD: LANGUAGES: English ( Dolby Digital 2.0 ), French ( Dolby Digital 2.0 ), French ( Subtitles ), WIDESCREEN (1.85:1), SPECIAL FEATURES: Cast/Crew Interview(s), Collectors Edition, Interactive Menu, Photo Gallery, Scene Access, Trailer(s), SYNOPSIS: Heather (Linnea Quigley), the deaf-mute sister of Brenda (Linda Blair) is gang-raped in a drawn-out, violent scene at the beginning of this routine vengeance movie, a scene that provides the motivation for Brenda's rampage through the rest of the film. Dressed in a special outfit that bares enough skin to suit the standards of this genre and armed with a crossbow, Brenda goes after the young punks in the 'Scars' gang who raped her sister - with predictably gory results. Surrounding this miniature Charles Bronson is a society burdened with parodies of 'good' people: the school principal who is only superficially tough, and the upper-class teens whose thought processes were arrested shortly after kindergarten. Stereotypical and transparent, this teen movie is interesting because it does promote a woman in a 'hero' role, but the subject matter and violence will not appeal to everyone. ...Savage Streets ( 5 Deadly Angels ) ( Zombie Brigade )

4.0 out of 5 stars "I am going to cut your heart out and EAT IT" 18 Nov 2011
By West25
Format:DVD
Brenda, her deaf mute sister Heather and three friends are out one night, when Heather, unable to hear a car coming, steps out onto the road. Almost getting run over, the car stops and the girls instantly know the cars occupants, "the scars", a gang of dope dealers and street hustlers. Instead of getting an apology from the gang for almost hitting Heather, the girls are propositioned for sex and drugs. After a little more shouting at each other, the gang drives off to collect money from one of their "customers". A little while later, the girls see the car and decide to steal it to get their own back. The gang later discover the car abandoned and full of garbage.

A day or two after the car incident, the gang are at the school to deliver a beating to a student. One of the gang spot Heather walking into the gym, everybody goes to shower leaving Heather alone while she waits for Brenda to walk her home. One of the gang starts talking to Heather and she tries to show him some sign language. He then tries to force himself on her and she tries to escape, only to bump into the rest of the gang who then take turns to rape and beat her. Brenda and her friends go looking for Heather only to find her unconscious and bloodied on the floor, she's taken to hospital and placed in critical condition.

After another altercation between the leader of the gang called Jake and Brenda's friend, Francine, a member of the gang gains a conscience and goes to the hospital to apologise to Heather, who is in a coma. Brenda happens to walk in and forces the information out of him regarding who's responsible for the rape, armed with this information, Brenda sets out on a one woman vigilante mission to bring the gang to justice, armed with a crossbow, bear traps and a switchblade.

By Tommy Dooley TOP 50 REVIEWER
Format:DVD
I love these types of films where it is all pretty much black and white and you know what you are going to get. This is all about Brenda played by ubiquitous horror queen Linda Blair (`The Exorcist', Exorcist II', `Hell Night' and `S -Club 7 Artistic Differences' now that was horrific!) She has a deaf mute sister Heather, played with girly bubble gum innocence by Linnea Quigley (`Night of the Living Dead 1985').

She has a posse of kick ass eighties bouffant haired and big shoulder padded friends. One night they run into some dope dealing punks and exact a petty revenge, this leads the gang to track them down to their school. These delinquent lads seem to spend all their time talking street nonsense and shadow boxing their own egos. Even the actions of tough, street talking Principal Underwood does not deter these heartless yobs from a cruel and violent sexual assault of Heather. So after the depth of their actions has been made clear to Brenda she decides to get into her black leather cat suit, undo the zip for extra action effect and go into super avenger mode.

Along the way we also have some love jealousy that causes a biatch fight in the ladies shower area with more `t and a' than this side of a girl locker room porno - never saw that coming, a marriage of convenience, some of the most outrageous hair styles and one or two plot holes.

But it lives up to all of the expectations and more. It has a run time of a mere eighty minutes, but does not suffer as it gives just the right amount of horror, pathos and pouty shouty acting that you come to love and expect from the genre. If you are fan of this type of movie then this is one that has to be seen - pure escapist fun, with blood, fights, attitude and bouncy bits.

5.0 out of 5 stars "..TOP 80'S CLASSIC...LINDA BLAIR IS AWESOME.." 30 April 2012
Format:DVD
This is a great 80s revenge film, Linda Blair is very sexy indeed in this film as the lead, a tough as nails girl who runs around with her girl gang having a good time until her younger sister meets foul play at the hands of a gang of four boys, then its payback time!! This is a very well made hip 80s film with some good acting and some good bloody revenge death scenes and nudity, if you like 80s classics then this is a must even if its for the smoking hot Linda Blair.

5.0 out of 5 stars SAVAGE 8 May 2014

THIS MOVIE WAS PRETTY GOOD, DID HAVE SOME GORE. WHEN YOUR IN A GANG LIKE THESE KIDS, SOMETHING WILL HAPPEN AND YOU GET INTO FIGHTS, PEOPLE GET HURT BAD OR DIE. THE ACTING WAS GOOD, AND THE NUDE SCENES OK. NEVER THOUGHT LINDA BLAIR WOULD SHOW US HER BOOBS (THEY MUST HAVE PAID MORE MONEY TO HER). THE 80'S MADE MANY GREAT FILMS, GOOD FILMS AND BAD ONES, THIS WAS GOOD ONE. OF COURSE JOHN VERNON IS TERRIFIC, HAD SMALL PART. THIS MOVIE SHOULD BE IN YOUR COLLECTION.

5.0 out of 5 stars Linda Blair does it again 17 Aug 2013
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
Well what can I say, wonderful movie if you like the usual Linda Blair stuff. First bought this movie on VHS tape, then found it on DVD. It's not everyone's cup of tea, it's a film that you would like "for old time sake" I love it. Great for a cold wet Sunday after noon.
