Product Description

This double bill not only includes a behind-the-scenes documentary featuring Savage Garden's Darren and Daniel while on the Australian leg of their 'Superstars and Cannonballs' world tour, but the 90-minute 'Live Affirmation Concert'. While the documentary features the boys talking about pop stardom, friendship and life on the road, the live segments includes the tracks 'Truly Madly Deeply', 'I Want You' and 'Affirmation'.

From Amazon.co.uk

Savage Garden, Australia's hottest export of recent years, are captured here in all their live glory as they hit their hometown of Brisbane in a triumphant sell-out homecoming gig. There is a fair amount of behind-the-scenes footage which serves to back up the roles that the two members of the band have adopted: singer Darren is the outgoing excitable one, attracted like a moth to a flame by the trappings of celebrity, whereas guitarist Daniel is the private and shy one, preferring to stay out of the limelight and just write songs. But with millions of records sold all around the world, sell-out tours, hysterical fans and a string of chart-topping singles, this unlikely pairing proves the old adage that opposites attract. All the hits are here--"To the Moon and Back", "Affirmation", "Truly, Madly Deeply", "The Animal Song" and others--but after a while the visuals do become very samey: with only two of them to look at, and one of them tending to stray away from the spotlight at every available opportunity, the poor cameramen don't have many options. The backdrop to the concert is a huge wall of multi-coloured blocks of lights, apparently based on memories of a trip to Blackpool (but without the rain, chip wrappers and drunken brawls, sadly). It's all very polished, and just a little bit sterile as it fails to recreate the atmosphere of the live experience. However, for those who were there it's a great lasting reminder. The DVD menu allows the viewer to choose multiple camera angles on a select number of tracks. --Helen Marquis --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

It's the Savage Garden fan here again. Yeah, I've seen them in concert and they were amazing. And it seems that they learned from their mistakes from the first album (see my review of the video collection) and totally pulled out all the stops. There is a cool pop up video of Darren explaining some of the songs, a couple of music videos, the full concert with multiple camera angles (though Imagine was cut for copyright reasons) and lots of other info to get your teeth into. If you love Savage Garden, or even if you want a spectacular concert - get this it's brilliant.

This video is absolutely amazing. From the beginning it takes you in and leads you on a journey with savage garden on tour. It is truly magnificent and it is almost as if you are there on stage with them as you feel the true atmosphere of the concert. This is an absolute must-have for all Savage Garden fans even those who know nothing of them will enjoy this splendour.
As well as live footage of them performing Darren talks as well as other cool stuff.
Buy it or you'll regret it!!!! FOREVER!!!!

I'm a Savage Garden fan, and I didn't see any live performance from them during their tour, and I was curious about, what it appears to be a calm and melodic band, could do in a live show to keep everybody praying for more! And I was supprised with the very good show they presented. The song line up is good, the stage is simple but with good light work, and despite of Daniel doesn't seem to be quite comfortable playing in front of so many people, Darren worth all the show. His voice is pure satisfaction to my hears and soul. For sure, one of the best male voices I love to hear.
The songs arrangements are good, but I didn't like what they did for my favorite song : 'You can steel be free', were his voice touch my heart! That song worth farly better than that.
On the opposite, "Gunning Down Romance" is simply superb : it's sexy (with the girl that acts with him, of course), it's well played and well performed. Outstanding stuff.
The extras on DVD simply demonstrates the simple and good guys they are.
This DVD is a must for any DVD collectors.BUY IT!

I went to see Savage Garden in Manchester in November and they were out of this world. This video brings back so many memories I actually welled up! The interviews are a nice touch as they let the fans see how different Daniel is from Darren. They are definitely the best band around at the moment but so many people don't know about them. They need educating! so come on, Savage fans, let them know what they're missing. If you love Savage Garden, then buy this video. You've just got to.

This video is amazing. The concert itself is truly fantstic. Its part of the Affirmation world tour and it takes place live in Brisbane. It includes all the hits off the album and some of the earlier songs including Break me Shake me, Santa Monica and Truly Madly Deeply. But aswell as the concert there is also an in depth behind the scenes interview with Darren and Daniel called Parallel Lives. This is a must see for all Savage Garden fans, you won't be able to turn it off. Enjoy!!

If you've seen Savage Garden live then you must get this DVD or the video. It's a wonderful reminder of the live SG experience. All the songs, except the cover of "Imagine", performed by Daniel and Darren during their "Affirmation" World Tour 2000 are on here and an amazing behind the scenes documentary with interviews with the band, their backing band and technical staff too.

This video is great as it can show fans who weren't lucky enough to go to one of Savage Gardens concerts a full live concert of theirs in their australien home - Brisbane. For those fans that have seen their concert in Europe this video is also a 'must have' as you can see all the extra things which were included in the australien leg of their tour (e.g the different costumes Darren wears for different songs). There is also an interview with Darren and Daniel after the concert. The interview shows people what Darren and Daniel's real ideas, thoughts and feelings are, with out the interference of the press. A truly wonderful video with truthful facts- a must have for any Savage Garden fan! :-)
