The films are all made in the last ten years of Ray's career: interesting to watch, but not quite perfect. What is however a real problem is that Artificial Eye seems to have gone cheap for the subtitling. I can't judge the translations, but the English is at times appalling. Sentences are left unfinished; clearly wrong nouns or pronouns are used; sentences are grammatically incorrect. It is worst in 'The enemy of the people' but the other two films also suffer occasionally. It is inexplicable that in an attempt to bring Ray's films to a wider public, the language is completely mangled, damaging the films and thus the pleasure in watching them.
