If you are a Plump's fan or a breaks fan this album will not disappoint. Some new tracks on the album as well as some great remixes. A must for your collection.
This could be their best yet

I took me a little time to get into this album. The first couple of tracks made me think of remixed soul and funk, but as the album gets going it developes into what I can only describe as a masterpiece of techno and breaks with funk and soul references. Stand out tracks are acid hustle, soul vibrates and Foxy moron.

Its uptempo and often uplifting and most important with techno interesting and reinventing.

Truely awesome, buy it.

If you've heard stuff from Plump Djs before then you know what to expect, and you will not be disapointed as the beats are more diverse and the bass better. For me, this album has many good tracks with many varying beats. Most of the songs include deep, ripping electronic bass with zipping, darting laser-like sounds along with light-airplane-type sounds, computer beeps and clean effects/sounds/drums that the chemical brothers may use. The music is very electronic and, if played out-load, makes you want to dance, and if on headphones, makes you walk fast as if on some kind of mission. It is neither trance, house or drum n bass, but rather breakbeat - the future for dance and hip-hop. The tracks are mixed into one another so the album moves from one track to the next smoothly, without abrupt glitches. Most tracks build, drop and then build again, often coming in with either a new beat, sound effect or instrument. There is vertually no singing (apart from Soul Of Man's song) meaning all the effort has gone into production, and this has resulted in a great crisp and clean electifying sound, it also means that the DJs are not trying to get in time with the singer/rapper, but can rather follow their own intuition and lead. The DJs have remixed and included a few tracks from other artists - lee coombs (plump's rmix is v good), sole claw, madox, soul of man, dylan rhymes, drumattic twins (v good song) and freestylers (rmix also very good and won an award, this song has a deeper, heavier beat than most of the other songs, something the Plump DJs sould do more often). This leaves 11 new plump tracks, which consist some amazing beats, so much so that I think even DJ Shadow would be absolutly amazed by the drum work!Read more ›
