This band are unfairly remembered for only,"Girl you´ll be a women soon," from the Pulp Fiction soundtrack. Back in 1993 they recorded, "Saturation." one of the great guitar pop albums of the 90´s. I was introduced to this album at the time by a friend from L.A. It´s a truly dazzling record. The punchy riff-driven start of "Tequila Sundae" and "Havana," are followed by the soulful "Positive Bleeding." "Back on me," and the brilliant,"Women to Women, are beautiful meloncholic pop songs.
"Crackbabies," ups the ante once again and what I like about this album is how it effortlessly changes pace and ideas but somehow the tracks fit perfectly together.
This album was ignored at the time of it´s release probably because of the popularity of the grunge scene, with which this band´s music has little in common.
I remember recognising their sound immediately the night I went to see Pulp Fiction. I´m sure Quentin Tarantino feels the same way about this band as I do. They are amazingly talented.
If you want to buy a great record that none of your mates own,buy this.
