Product Description

Product Description

One of reggae’s greatest albums by the most inspired of Jamaica’s vocal groups. This album is filled with great performances, as well as two of reggae’s most legendary songs, “Declaration Of Rights” and “Satta Massagana”. The song “Satta Massagana” serves as reggae’s national anthem, but all the songs on this album are equally as good. The Abyssinians proclaim their message through heavenly harmonies, their lyrics ringing with righteousness and track for track this album achieves a breathtaking clarity of vision. This Deluxe Edition features four previously unreleased bonus tracks, “Jerusalem”, “Leggo Beast Dub”, “Abendigo (Extended Mix)” and “Poor Jason Whyte (Extended Mix)”. Tracks: Declaration Of Rights / The Good Lord / Forward Unto Zion / Know Jah Today / Abendigo / Y Mas Gan / Black Man’s Strain / Satta Massagana / I And I / African Race / Leggo Beast / Peculiar Number / Reason Time / There Is No End / Jerusalem / Leggo Beast Dub / Abendigo (Extended Mix) / Poor Jason Whyte (Extended Mix).

Outstanding. Covers all of The Abyssinian's hits as well as a few added tracks for good measure. If you love Reggae or have ever wondered why people love reggae with such a passion then this is the CD for you.

The vocal harmonies on this LP are what it must be like to be serenaded by angels for eternity. This is amongst the best reggae you are likley to hear.

The Abysinnians have an authentic sound in that it is not tainted by any commercial sell-out. This album really grew on me. It is easy to hear that it is made by very chilled dreads and coming straight out of some deep meditation in the rasta sense. My favourite is Big Youth and next is the Abbysinians. A must have if you love reggae and chilling. It is serious but upbeat in sensability and soothing too.
