I have a medium thickness medium length hair and managed to achieve a reasonable result on my first try. This product creates a wave rather than a curl and only really works on the bottom section of the hair so I can't imagine you will get much use out of it if your hair is shorter than shoulder length.
Despite the fact that I now have a pretty wavy mane on my head the tongs are going back to where they came from because of two major design flaws:
1) The hinge that opens the tongs is unprotected and it is very easy (and painful) to catch the skin of your palm in it.
2) There is a gap between the ceramic plates and the plastic casing in which the hair gets trapped while you are curling so you end up with less hair at the end of the experience than you started with.

This does not do what it says it does. Awkward to use, hair gets caught in the gaps and torn out, then gets stuck and burns. . Burnt my face trying to use this as instructed in the very poor instruction leaflet. (Why so brief and tiny print?) Minimal safety features- no stand or heat mat, and the plates on the outside get very hot, so you can't put it down to rest safely. You need to be an octopus to use this . The video shows it being used on pre-straightened very fine hair, and not using the technique that is given in the instruction leaflet! On thick, wavy hair it failed to produce more than a couple of kinks , sticking out at hilarious angles. There is no facility for giving no stars, but if I could talk to the manufacturers, I would tell them that this really is a poor effort.
honestly i was dubious about this product more so after reading the reviews but honest these are fab! they look complicated to use they arent im really bad at stuff like this and within 15 mins im sitting here with identical hair to the video!.I have very hard to curl hair and this works like a dream as for the snagging hair i personally didnt get a problem but this i put down to actually having straightened my hair this morning. but one thing i will warn about just like straighteners be careful not to get too close to your face and watch those fingers!
