This dvd is an absolute must for any Sarah Mclachlan fan. It really is impossible to fault.
The extras include three wonderful videos for the latest singles off Afterglow; and a really endearing behind the scenes look at Sarah's leisure time. It's both respectful to her privacy, and very naturally filmed. There is no artifice, just the lady herself being herself As in her concert performances, she comes across as very human, down to earth and thoroughly likable.
There is a wonderful photo collection that captures many joyous moments from the concert, and the concert is just that: joyous.
It is impecably filmed, the editing is superb and the sound is incredible. The picture quality is faultless. For two hours, we are treated to sheer professionalism from Sarah and her band. The talent on the stage is im-measurable.
But this professionalism isn't constrained and thus made dour. There is real feeling, real enthusiasm and love of the songs. Sarah's voice is quite simply incredible.
The highlights are Fear And World Is On Fire. There is a stunning rendition of Possession.
Sarah is utterly endearing when she talks to the audience and an impromptu fire works display in the middle of the concert makes the two hours all the more special.
The cd is highlights from the 23 track concert. Obviously incredible and ipod friendly.
There is nothing more to say. I'm going now to watch Sarah again.

Sarah McLachlan is the greatest singer-songwriter I have ever known, and with only a small handful of loyal followers here in the UK, the Canadian artist deserves much better recognition than shes getting. I attended the Afterglow Live tour with my partner at the Hammersmith Apollo, and we both had an amazing time. This album is from that tour! When Sarah sings in the recording studio, her voice soars. When she sings live, she is truly breathtaking. Her voice combined with emotive and sometimes heartbreaking lyrics capture, engulf and embrace you totally. She has the uncanny ability to raise the hairs on the back of your neck, and make you feel like she's pulling on your very own heart strings. And yeah, she rocks too! This outstanding recording (in a similar vain as the Mirrorball album) chronicles Sarah's own personal favorites from a career spanning many successful years. We waited with baited breath for the release of her new studio recording "Afterglow", after a six year break. The singles Fallen, World On Fire and Stupid, airing currently on Canadian Radio and a few in the UK show that she still has her emotionally gripping voice, this time with new maturity and weathered experience. And now we have 'Afterglow Live' to cherish! You are bound to LOVE every song on 'Afterglow Live'. It includes many songs from the hugely successful album Afterglow, as well as songs from most of the earlier albums. There's an amazing performance given by Sarah on the Trainwreck track, to mention but one. Just listen to the samples for a taster! Can't wait for the accompanying DVD, out 6th December 2004.

Eight years is a long time to wait for an artist to release new material. Eight years can do a lot to a person, tastes change, music changes, life does that. After eight years I have all her songs memorised, and my favourites engraved in my heart. Eight years and she hasn't lost it. This is a whole new Sarah, the bittersweet and the heartache are still around, but there is something new in her voice.
The CD when it came out blew me away, and I knew that she would be touring so I booked myself a ticket to watch her Afterglow tour in Manchester. Amazing, beautiful, that gorgeous misery, its like an aphrodisiac and amphetamines at the same time.
So I bought the DVD. All I can say is that even though I wasn't there, it had such great visuals, such atmosphere that I had the best Saturday morning of my life.
I cant begin to explain how good the music and the visuals are. The set of 'fear' was the best, her rendition of the Beatles song 'Blackbird' haunting, I just fell in love with her all over again, There is so much passion and emotion. The best I can describe it by saying you feel like part of a family, and for two hours you listen to beautifully crafted music and think nothing can be better. Some people say this DVD isn't the best, and that the concert isn't as good as the Mirrorball concert DVD. All I can say is that this is a new Sarah, older, wiser and deeper. The CD is great but the DVD is fantastic, because the emotion is plain to see.

Brilliant album and DVD - CD gives 70 minutes of live versions of Afterglow that are even better than the studio versions. DVD gives 140 mins of the concert and videos of singles. Absolutely stunning package and great value

The Afterglow tour is filmed here in its entirety with an accompanying CD which focuses mostly on Sarah's recent work from Surfacing and Afterglow. The DVD contains a "glowing" Sarah live in concert, highlights include Fear, Possession, Sweet Surrender and Trainwreck. She is outstanding on the slower songs such as Answer, Blackbird and Push. There are no duds here and Sarah gives it her all with an amazing vocal delivery. Also included on the DVD are less than great videos of Fallen and Stupid. The clip for World on Fire is simple and effective in bringing the message across. We also get a short documentary on Sarah which is insightful.
The DVD is worth 5 star, the CD is 4 star. Mirrorball outshines the CD due to the more broad selection of material.
