Firstly I am only a casual gamer, using a single monitor at 1920x1200 resolution (60hz). Having recently built a new PC I was looking for a decent graphics card to enable me to play BF4, NFS Rivals etc at the best quality with playable frame rates.

After research I'd settled on an AMD card with the hope that mantle would also help with performance in the future and was intially considering a 280x or even 290. However the prices on these card seem inflated at the moment due to bitcoin mining, so have held off.

I then came across this card whilst browsing Amazon and decided to give it a try, given it was around £100 cheaper than a 280x and internet reviews were good. I was however slightly worried that I may not be able to play at ultra settings or have to turn down resolution to be able to get decent frame rates, based on what I'd read on gaming forums etc.

After using the card for a few weeks now I have to say I couldn't be happier. BF4 is set with everything at ultra including AA and this card is giving me frame rates between 40-80, which is perfectly smooth. I haven't experienced a single judder, freeze or anything that suggests this card can't play the game at top settings (at 1080x1200).

I also tried NFS Rivals which is known to tax graphics cards and cpu (due to being a poor console conversion) and again it plays beautifully smooth with all settings on max.

As far as noise goes, this card is really quiet - even when in the middle of a gaming session. I think this is because it seems to run fairly cool, topping out around 50-60oC. Be aware though that due to the large cooler attached, this card is very long, so measure your case carefully. I had to remove the center drive bays in my Fractal R4 to get it to fit.

So all in all I could not be happier and am so glad I did not spend the extra on a 280x or higher!

After some deliberation around a new build, I opted for this card at £160 due to its favourable reviews in crossfire against the best 280X. The 280X price bracket is out of reach for me at the moment, but as prices come down on this card it will remain a feasible option down the line.

Performance-wise, this thing chews up and spits out most DX11.0 games @ 1920x1200, but benchmark-wise, with a h60 cooled FX8320 at stock 3.5Ghz, this attains 5617 on the 3Dmark FireStrike test.

Overclocking isn't straightforward. After having got this card installed, I expected to be able to bump the memory clock straight up to 1600mhz beyond its 'stock' setting (but beneath its purported 1625Mhz limit) and eek another 25mhz out of the GPU clock, but it was too unstable, with stuttering and tearing everywhere. Methinks a gradual clock is in order next.

Overall, I would definitely consider getting this card again, for crossfire purposes, as the single card also compares favourably with the new consoles, spec-wise, and would definitely be future-proofed for multi-platform games for the whole of this generation.

ATTENTION: Potential buyers of this card, please CHECK IF THIS CARD FITS IN YOUR CASE.

I was going to go for a regular 270X but the Toxic caught my eye. It was slightly better for only a little more money. I thought "why not" and bought it. I have never made such a great decision in all of my life. Any game I can throw at it just gets rendered at perfect speed.

After testing this on a few games I play a lot I decided to benchmark it with 3DMark. On all 4 tests it ranked about halfway between a gaming laptop (such as an Alienware laptop) and the GTX Titan which I think is amazing!

Also it has a cool-ass glowing Sapphire logo on the top.

This card is a must-buy if your case can fit it!

It works exactly as described and it provides 60 fps on COD Ghosts with all settings at maximum except Anti-Aliasing which is set at x4. I would thoroughly recommend this product!

As expected Sapphire's top series Toxic has no trouble playing any game at top graphics. Temperatures at 40c at full load.

Perfect, just added another to my Build and so far been hitting 120-150 frames in Battlefield 4 Ultra & 4x MXAA where with a single card you will be close to 60-90 frames on High with MXAA turned off. I was happy with one but I wanted to add another to get that wow factor and it looks cool. one is more than enough for 1080p gaming any higher I would suggest an R9 280x or 290x

I've always been a console gamer, but with building my first PC, I knew I'd want it to be at least competent for running games; and I've not been disappointed.

It runs quiet, and well.
Perhaps not quite as well as I was expecting, though this maybe down to my CPU according to 3Dmark.

I also downloaded Sapphire's over-clocking application from their website, and found that at least my card runs stable at a 7% over-clock, which I'm pleased with.
I also set custom fan speeds with the program, but there seems to be a bug that makes the fan rev up to 70% intermittently for no reason, so I've left it's fans on auto, which works well enough.
Of course this is a problem with the software, which is optional, so I wont let it detract from my rating, but I felt it worth mentioning.

I chose this card as it seems remarkably good value for the money, perhaps only being matched by Asus' Nvidia 760 card, which is worth considering if you're willing to pay a little more.

I would certainly recommend this card for any gamers who are building or upgrading a PC.
