OK, I helped my 13y/o son pick this card which he paid for with his xmas money as he now has a 32" HD TV in his room and he fancied connecting his PC to it and this card has given everything we had hoped for. I have one very happy camper! he can play his games on his PC on the big TV whilst still browsing the net for cheats on the old monitor at the same time.
If you are trying to do the same, watch out because many cards are classed as HD but not all have a proper HDMI connection as this one does, the only extra you will need is a regular HDMI cable and the results are excellent.
(We have not tried to get the sound through the HDMI as yet, still using the regular PC speaker system).

Oh and the bonus was I got his previous Radeon card for my own machine.

Fitted this to a small form Acer to improve the graphics component of the Windows Experience rating - which it duly did. As it has no fan it is quiet and there is no noticeable increase in heat coming from the box. A temerature monitor program shows it to be running at a relatively constant 70 degrees C. Used the latest drivers downloaded from AMD.

I have previously purchased a lower specification version of this card Sapphire 11125-02-21R Radeon HD 3450 256MB LP PCI E 2.0 Graphics Card and was delighted with its performance so I decided to try the more powerful HDMI version when I upgraded my TV.

Importantly this card has low profile brackets supplied with it so I am able to use it in my Media PC that uses half-height cards. The card is also silent as there is no fan onboard, just a well designed heat sink.

The card is simplicity itself to set up in Windows Vista (I'm using 64bit) and has the benefit of working with my Linux distro (Mythbuntu) with little effort. The support on the ATI website appears comprehensive but I haven't had occasion to need help so far.

The HDMI interface is perfect for hooking up with my plasma screen and carries audio as well as video, something that is an issue when you use a DVI-I to HDMI adapter/cable with many other cards.

The quality of the video is first class - 512Mb and DDR3 is easily able to keep up with my PC BlueRay player and the inclusion of Unified Video Decoder (UVD) allows the viewing of encrypted Blue-ray discs.

This is a stunningly good card at a bargain price that makes the most of big screens.

Initially this seemed as if it would be the perfect way to get an HDMI to HDMI from my 5 year old slimline Dell (without an HDMI connection) to watch programmes downloaded into iPlayer on my super new widescreen TV (WITH HDMI) The Sapphire was easy to fit with the Low Profile bracket and I turned back on with due excitement....to find nothing. Uninstalled and reinstalled the old HDMI-less graphics card, everything working fine. Tried again. Nothing. Phoned the very helpful supplier(ADMI) and they told me that despite the fact that the manufacturer states this will work with Windows XP Service Pack 2 and up, that they themselves have found that XP doesn't really manage this. So I can't comment on how brilliant (or otherwise) this Sapphire Radeon is - hence a neutral 3 stars - its just not fit for purpose with XP. I was just pleased to be offered a refund, so at least though frustrated I wasn't out of pocket

A great little card and good value for money. Silent running with no on board fan so great for a multimedia machine. Handles HD content well and a worthy upgrade from integrated motherboard graphics.
