Now Sapphire has introduced a new model in this series in a low profile format, but with a slim single slot cooler, believed to be the first and only graphics card available with his specification. The Sapphire HD 6670 Low Profile model has 480 Stream Processors and 24 texture processing units and like other models in this series, sports 1GB of the latest DDR5 memory. With clock speeds of 800MHz core and 1000MHz (4GHz effective) for the memory, it delivers the same performance the other models, but in a low profile format with a single slot cooler, making it one of the fastest and most capable low profile graphics cards available today.

This arrived well packaged and earlier than expected- which was a pleasant surprise.

The card looks smart (not that you will see in the case- but it's still important) and most importantly for me, it takes it's power from the PCI-e slot. So, ignore the part about needing a 400 Watt power supply- my 305 Watt, bog-standard DELL PSU, handles it without any issues. Additionally, it comes with a VGA port- although the descriptions don't tell you, the other HD6670 cards come with a DVI to VGA adaptor.

Fitting was easy- uninstall any existing drivers/catalyst control centre, go in and uninstall the existing graphics card using the Hardware Manager then delete the ATI folder in the root of the hard-drive.

Opened the casing and it simply required the clip at the back of the PC undoing and then moving the retaining clip on the PCI-e slot and the old X600 card just slid out. The new card slotted in neatly (although, the casing for the Processor Cooler is just touching the casing for the GPU cooler. Doesn't affect it's operation however.)

Installing the drivers with the accompanying CD is easy- and it makes 100% sure that the HDMI audio driver is installed properly: people have had problems downloading the latest drivers and using them rather than the CD to set it up. I just updated the drivers to the latest versions afterwards.

In operation I actually get more noise out of the PSU and CPU fans!

As for the improvement in Graphics- I wasn't expecting to be blown away it's not an all singing, all dancing card. But, it handles Crysis ramping the graphics up considerably from my old card. It also runs Crysis 2 at 1024 by 768 with only the odd slow-down.

All in all, if you are looking to upgrade an older graphics card and don't want to go to the trouble/expense of upgrading the PSU as well, then this is a perfect buy.

Sapphire 11192-18-20G HD6670 1GB GDDR5 Low Profile Graphics CardHave just installed this card on a Dell Inspiron 530s running vista 32 bit with 4GB RAM and E6550 Core 2 Duo. Updated the driver from the AMD website. Windows experience index is now up to maximum. The only problem was a smaller desktop (black bands all round) with an hdmi connection. This was sorted out by finding the answer on the web and changing the scaling to 0 in the Catalyst control centre (Right click desktop and open Catalyst Control Centre; enter scaling in the search box which will open another window and move the slider to the right = 0). Problem solved. So far so good.

The Low Profile card comes with a regular back plate so that it can fit into normal Medium tower too. Great card given that it does not require additional power.

Amazon delivery etc: was very good, the card however fell at the first hurdle. I uninstalled the old drivers/software shutdown the computer and removed the old card. I installed the new graphics card turned the machine on. The computer started up ok until just prior to the log on screen for Windows 8.1 whereupon the screen went blank and the computer just hung. Held power button in to power down the computer, I had to reinstall old graphics card to find out what had happened. I checked Action Centre, Maintenance I found a message Hardware not recognised. So I pre installed the latest Drivers/Software down loaded from the Sapphire web site. I then reinstalled Sapphire HD 6670 Low profile card but had the same result on the start up of the computer.

I have updated my card from a Sapphire HD 5450 to this and the leap in performance is absolutely incredible. No longer need to play games at 1280x720p I can now run them smoothly at full settings.
My PC is 3 years old and the specs are not high end but as follows, Pentium Dual core E5300 cpu at 2.60 GHz, Win7 64bit, 8GB DDR2 Ram, 1 TB hdd and Sapphire 6670 GPU. This card has increased my windows graphics performance score from 6.1 to 7.1.
Totally blows my PS3 away now. Very quick and easy to install too.

The card arrived on time. the change from my old 5450 was easy enough, there was no problems with the drivers. this card can run league of legends on medium above 60fps haven't tried any other games yet. I brought this card because my old 5450 come with the pc stopped working, this definitely a huge upgrade from the 5450, this card don't need any power from the psu, it draws its power from PCI slot the same way as a 5450 which saved me lot of time from getting a new psu. It says the card requires a 400w psu, but it works fine on my 300w dell psu.

I've had this in an HP Small Form Factor desktop. Worked very well for five months but now behaving erratically so am having to replace. It has been in a benign physical environment and by no means used every day so I am disappointed.
