Being a Dual Camera, the VPC-PD1 is just as good at recording super-detailed 10M photos as it is at capturing full 1080p video. Don't worry if your subject is far away. With the PD1's optical and digital zooms, you can get up close and personal. Want to show off your Full HD videos and high-def photos? Simply connect the PD1 to a USB- or HDMI-compatible monitor or TV, and press play. The PD1's built-in mini-HDMI connection lets you play back high-quality audio and video through a single cable. Thanks to the PD1's built-in USB jack and on-board upload software, sharing your photos and videos is easier than ever. You don't even need any special PC software. Just connect the camera to an internet-linked PC, and your content will be uploaded automatically to your chosen location. Designed with ease-of-use in mind, the PD1 takes the hassle out of shooting. A single button press is all it takes to start shooting a high-def video or photo. The automatic settings adjust to the light in your scene, and the digital image stabilizer helps you shoot smooth, shake-free videos.
Bought this as a replacement for a broken sanyo digital camera as a birthday present for the wife; neither of us is technically gifted so after reading reviews seemed best bet for ease of use combining camera/video. Turned out to be a great choice as has been used non-stop since receipt and has proved simple to use in both modes with good quality pictures and video playback. I would recommend this camera to any future buyers.
I bought one of these not being too sure what to expect although I had other items in Sanyo in the past and was always happy. I was surprised how good this camera was. Compared with my Flip, this camera is King. The optical zoom is fantastic (Flip has no optical zoom) . The build quality and the full high defention movie is fantastic and I could not beleive the quality of the still pictures. It is best value for money camera ever. Flip is a joke next to this.
