Product Description

The MQN04 is the ideal model for use at home, because it can charge 4 batteries overnight and it is economically priced. It comes with a UK 3 Pin Plug for direct use into an A/C wall socket. The slow charging by using a low charge-current ensures a long cycle life of the eneloop batteries. The MQN04 can charge either 2 or 4 batteries of size AA or AAA at once.

This is a high quality item which meets its Amazon description in full and a bonus is that upon closer examination I found that the charger is built to accommodate the smaller AAA cells as well as the AA cells supplied -excellent! By the way if you're wondering about the value aspect the manufacturer guarantees 750x average charging cycles on the cells so even at 99 pence for 4 at budget prices for plain AA throwaway cells that's a hell of a saving (yes I know there's no such thing in physics as a free lunch i.e. cost of electricity x number of recharges and the cost to the environment of making the charger etc)on the other hand you dont then have to dispose of 3000 dead dry cells afterwards- but for most of us its the money up front that counts be honest! -Highly recommended get one now.

I had seen some great reviews of the Sanyo eneloop batteries, and after going through traditional AA batteries like crazy, I decided to buy a set. There seemed to be some confusion on other Amazon listings about whether the chargers came with UK or Eurozone ac sockets. I decided to chance it, since this retailer was advertising the UK plug, and I'm very happy to report that it _did_ come with the 3 pins.

The charger comes with 4x 1900-2000mAh AA batteries, that come pre-charged (Sanyo charge all their eneloop batteries with solar power at their factory in Japan!) & ready to use. It is worth noting too that eneloop batteries hold their charge for a year or so, meaning you can leave them in the drawer and still reasonably expect them to perform when you take them out. They also deteriorate much less than standard rechargeable batteries.

£10 is a steal for 4x rechargeable AA batteries and a charger, I can heartily recommend this product.

Oh, the charger will also recharge AAA eneloop batteries as well- so no need for another charger (unless you use D cells, but I haven't needed one of those for years...)

Hi, I got this product recently and its working great. Best buy for this price. The only problem with this product is the slow charging. it takes about 12-14hours for it to charge from a completely discharged state to a fully charged state. for people who need immediate charging, will have to buy a fast charger.

The charger in question is a standard wall wart charger. It will take allmetal hydride AA and AAA cells, charged in matched pairs.

The charger isn't an automatic one and has no shutoff at full charge. If you fit lower capacity cells, or charge partially full cells then you can end up overcharging the batteries and damaging them. The charger is sized to basically charge it's own Eneloop cells, provided they are flat when you start charging. It charges them to full capacity, plus a little overcharge and then shuts off, but it cannot be trusted to automatically charge part discharged cells. I have to say for the price (an end of charge sensor circuit or thermal monitor costs mere pence!) I was disappointed in the price of the charger and cells. It is however well built and sturdy. I'll keep my own homebuilt one for partial charges and use this to charge when I go away on trips.

The Eneloop cells however are as good as they promise, they retain charge well, ideal for emergency lights and also for most other uses. The lower capacity you get is more than offset by the low self discharge - ideal for leaving in a camera.

Great Value, with latest version of AA batteries, the charger itself only cost me an extra three pounds fifty pence!!

Please note this is a slow charger to keep your precious Eneloop's in prime condition!
So more suited to organised / plan ahead types!

If you are more of a headless chicken merchant go for a faster charger but this alledgedly doesn't do the batteries much good, hence the slow nature of charge in this unit.

I am a reformed former headless chicken, so this will serve me well...unless I slip into bad old habits of wanting fully charged batteries in my camera flash without thinking ahead:) This said, the cells keep their charge so well that such instances are drastically reduced anyway...so the batteries themselves suit the less organised of us anway I guess!

Very impressed with quality...this is the UK Version which avoids the clumsy / awkward adapter nonsense mentioned in reviews of the same product on Amazon which is not the UK version...if from the uk buy this one, it costs no more.

Quite heavy and batteries are VERY firmly held in place (careful with those finger nails ladies!) but overall feels like quality to match the wonderful recharge cells, which are the latest improved one too.

All good, thouroughly recommended.

I've left this review for a bit to test the batteries and charger myself. They are fantastic. I bought this charger and a further 4 batteries for my daughters LeapFrog 2 as it will eat 4 Duracell's
daily.

These batteries can run the Leapfrog 2 for up to two days of solid use. I have a set in her keyboard as well now since Christmas what have yet to need a recharge.

As to the charger I have seen reviews on here about no voltage control or indicator. Mine has green lights on that turn off when the batteries are fully charged. I will only use Sanyo batteries with the Sanyo charger. The charger is slow as its expected to be for the better charge of these batteries. Fast charging charges are known to partly charge a battery with them sometimes leaking
and will destroy your batteries before long.

If you want to charge other rechargeable batteries that are not Sanyo buy a different charger that matches the batteries. These are newer technology and I would only recommend using this charger
with what it was made for.

Batteries came fully charged and ready to go to boot.

Highly recommended batteries and charger!
