Disappointing for the price,

This review is from: Sanyo ICR-1000 Professional Digital Dictation Machine ( with Slide Control ) (Office Product)
For an expensive and high-end device, the ICR-1000 is more difficult to use than it should be. The organisation of folders takes some getting used to, and the screen has little space for detailed information. I found the cue and rewind buttons often took me to the end (or beginning) of a recording, rather than allowing me to find the part of it that I was looking for. The circular rocker switch is a bit clunky, and the erase button is rather too prominently placed on the front of the device. It didn't happen to me, but I'd worry about the risk of losing an important recording.Even the leather carrying case is poorly designed. It's hard to remove the machine from the device without inadvertently causing the device to play or (worse) to record - perhaps over an existing recording. Once you get used to some of these idioscyncracies it works fine. But for the money it can only be worth two stars.

sanyo ICR1000 deletes files very easily,

I bought this for recording interviews for work. I have lost a number of files for no apparent reason. Whether it is faulty or the (prominent) erase button is getting pressed as the unit is stored in my briefcase, I don't know. But it is far too easy to delete files and to inadvertently record over existing files. All in all, infuriating. It is also fiddly to use with its different folders and rocker buttons that take you to the start or end of a file, but don't allow you stop moving forwards or backwards. I would not buy another one of these.
