I bought this as it was the only black 900 watt microwave which fit my budget and the reviews were good.
It looks great and works perfectly. I love the fact that the majority of buttons are covered when not in use - makes for a smarter look.
This, as noted by another reviewer, is rather light, and I solved this by having the microwave in the corner of my kitchen facing diagonally out so opening and closing and pressing buttons doesn't allow for movement as it has walls on either side!
Defrosts by weight if needed and obviously, with 900 watt, cooks this much faster than others. Very pleased all 'round!

Looks beautiful in the kitchen and has the most wonderfully useful features at the touch of a button.
Easy to clean and the internal light is very useful.
Cooks jacket potatoes by the weight, so when they're done and left to stand for a few minutes in kitchen foil, they're perfect!
Recommend reading the manual to get the most out of it.

The Sanyo EM-S3597V is a lovely little oven, but I don't consider it to be "Family Sized" as claimed. In fact it's a lot smaller than I thought. One drawback is that it's very lightweight and if you leave a gap behind it (as suggested in the booklet) to allow for hot air to escape from the upper and back vents, every time you press a button or open the oven door via the "lock/unlock button" the whole oven slides across the work surface in the kitchen. I ended up placing a small empty cardboard box behind it so that when you use the controls or operate the doorlock, it doesn't slide around. I also find that to use the controls (apart from quickstart) you need the oven door open to operate the time, and other controls, which is a bit fiddly. And if I'm being really picky (which I am), a 24 hour clock would be better than the 12 hour digital one. Apart from that it's fine!!

Excellent. One minor minus, the door needs to be still open to set cooking time. So, a lot of closing/opening door for a while, before getting used to it.

Sanyo EM-S3597V
Functionality of microwave is fine and it looks nice on the counter. However, mine stopped working after about 10 uses (made a big pop) and there is no easy way to get it fixed.
