This collection of stories has an extremely loose Christmas theme holding together disparate stories about sex and romance.

THE CHRISTMAS PRESENT by Lori Foster
This story is about a young woman, Beth Monroe, who is on her way to her family's hotel in Kentucky to escape a personal drama. She broke off her engagement to a doctor, Brandon, when she discovered him with another woman. In order to get back at him she decided to sleep with Brandon's best friend, Levi Masterson, but got more than she bargained for. Her expected quick fling with Levi turned into a hot weekend and now she is so embarrassed by the way she let herself go that she's retreating to her family at Christmastime.

Unfortunately for her equilibrium, Levi is hot on her heels, trying to persuade her to marry him. With various family members giving advice, Beth and Levi spend some time at the hotel talking and continuing their hot sex as Beth tries to get her head round events. Did she really love Brandon? Hasn't she always been aware of Levi as a very special man? Brandon appears at the end of the story and, in a rather weak-seeming plot development, decides that Levi is far more deserving of Beth anyway.

This story was reasonable but it seemed to lack any genuine power or emotion and there wasn't enough really holding the plot together to make it a satisfying read. The principals' behaviour also didn't stand up to real scrutiny with Beth using someone else for sex just to pay back Brandon and a 15-year friendship apparently chucked away at the first opportunity by Levi. The additional characters, various brothers and parents, also added little to the story - I imagine they have featured in previous stories by this author but their contributions were largely spurious here. 2 Stars.

IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE by Karen Kelley
This is another simple story where we are introduced to handsome playboy actor Jeremy Hunter. Unfortunately Hunter is about to lose the part in a film because his playboy reputation is making the producers worry that he can't authentically play the part of a travelling preacher. In order to prove to them he can play the part successfully he agrees to spend a week as a travelling preacher and to prove that people will believe him.

At the end of the week he ends up in the small village of Two Creeks where, after spraining his ankle, he has to stay for a few days whilst he recovers. He's lodging in the guest house belonging to a young school teacher, Bailey, and he finds maintaining his cover as a preacher more and more difficult. When things become serious between them he runs off before being dragged back to face the music by her relatives.

This is another simple story with rather too many unlikely events to make it believable. Hunter was clearly at a loss in his role of the preacher and yet people seemed to believe him in the village. The denouement scene was rather unsatisfactory and I wasn't sure that Hunter's reform would last. All Bailey seemed to see in him was his physical appearance - after all, he lied to her and didn't have much else to recommend him rather than money. 2 Stars.

HOME FOR CHRISTMAS by Dianne Castell
This was a very strange story. Two people whose relationships have just broken up meet in a gazebo on a snowy winter's night and start having sex within about five minutes, promising that it's nothing serious, just a meeting of the dumped. However the man, 'Handsome' as Lulu dubs him, finds he has to stay around to make the most of all the events planned for his wedding which was called off the day before. Apparently his family want to go ahead with the non-Wedding and, even more bizarrely, apparently they have decided Lulu is right for him and should become the new bride (although they don't tell him this). Lulu has decided she doesn't want to get involved with a man who travels and 'Handsome' (otherwise known as Sebastian) is a soldier about to be deployed. Lulu and Sebastian, between bouts of sex, decide to matchmake two members of Sebastian's family but find themselves unexpectedly married. At this point it was impossible to stretch credulity - the sham marriage was completely out of order and in no way legal but they seemed to think it was. Anyway, eventually all is sorted out but in such an unlikely story that I found myself relieved to have got it over and done with. This was definitely a disappointing and unrealistic story. 1 Star.

The Christmas Present by Lori Foster

Beth's life is pure chaos. She found out that her fiancée is cheating on her, she slept with his best friend to get even, but what she did not count on was that Levi has loved her for a long time and that he awoke feelings in her that she never thought possible. She flees to her family, but Levi is on his way to persuade her that she should marry him. Will he be able to persuade her and what will her very protective family say to him?

Ms. Foster wrote with this story another keeper. Wonderful characters with whom you will immediately fall in love with. The Christmas Present is a really gift to her readers. Definitely not a tale that you want to miss.

The Christmas Present is the sequel to Ms Forster previous books TOO MUCH TEMPATION and NEVER TOO MUCH, which are the books of Beth's stepbrothers. Nevertheless, you can read the story as a stand-alone.

It's A Wonderful Life by Karen Kelley

The actor Jeremy Hunter is a playboy par excellence whose next role is something he knows nothing about, being a priest. His agent persuades him to try to live as a priest for a while. That's when he meets Bailey during his short stay in Two Creeks, Texas. He wishes that he didn't have to tell her lies to keep his real identity a secret. Will they have a future once she learns the truth?

Ms. Kelley delivers with It's A Wonderful Life a wonderful story with her typical sense of humor. It's fun to see how Jeremy tries to stay in his role of a priest, because that is really not easy for him. And to make it even more interesting are his doubts that he would ever have a chance with Bailey because he thinks that she is a proper small town fourth grade school teacher and would never be interested in the real Jeremy. What he doesn't know is that Bailey worries about the same things just the other way around.

Another fun factor are the secondary characters, who add a lot of spice and fun to the story.

It's A Wonderful Life is the sequel of SOUTHERN COMFORT (Bailey's brother Wade's story) and you will meet Cody from HELL ON WHEELS again.

Home For Christmas by Dianne Castell

LuLu and Sebastian met one fateful night when both of them were down. They found consolation in each other, and as the result, LuLu is pregnant. To complicate the situation even more, Sebastian will be deployed overseas very soon and they have a lot of things to sort through before they can have a happy end.

Ms. Castell takes her readers back to Fallon's Landing. Her Christmas gift to her readers is an unusual set of characters that will make you smile. You will meet characters again from her O'Fallon series.

This anthology is a really fantastic book with three wonderful Christmas stories!

5.0 out of 5 stars Sexy Fun Read 28 Sep 2007
By Cryna Palmiere - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
This is an anthology with Lori Foster, Karen Kelley and Dianne Castell and is a wonderful sexy read. All three authors have done a great job of working the true Christmas spirit into their stories.

The Christmas Present by Lori Foster brings us Beth Munroe who has broken up with her fiancé that she caught cheating. How better than to get revenge but for to cheat with his best friend, Levi Materson? Only the whole plan has her seriously shaken and running home to Gillespie, Kentucky for the holiday season and to sort through her mixed emotions. Levi follows her because he wants Beth to acknowledge what they have. The sizzle between the two is enough to melt the snow, and the trip to resolving their problems is fun, hot read.

It's A Wonderful Life by Karen Kelley returns us to Two Creeks, Texas. Bailey Tanner is a 4th grade teacher who would like some spice and excitement in her life. Enter a sexy, bad boy person in the form of Trey Jones on his Harley. Now things are looking up until Bailey finds that he is a travelling preacher and off limits, but when he gets hurt, she takes him home with her. The heat that these two give off is enough to burn the pages, but there is a lot of guilt and secrets between them that must be worked through. Trey is not really who he says but actually Jeremy Hunter, an actor, playboy out getting into character for his upcoming role. The conflicting, roller coaster ride that this story takes the reader on is an enjoyable one. There are times when you need ice to cool you off, feel like slapping the hero, and sympathize with Bailey, but with Christmas just around the corner is there magic in the air?

Home For Christmas by Dianne Castell tells the story of LuLu Cahill who has come home to O'Fallan's Landing because of having no where else to go when her ex-boyfriend runs off leaving her pregnant, broke and in debt. She meets Sebastian Moore, who has just been dumped at the altar in the most unlikely place. To say that these two set off enough sparks to light up the whole area and melt the snow would be an understatement. The reader is then lead on a hot, wild, funny read as these two try to fight their feelings for each other and play matchmakers for others. Does it work? Will they see the error of their ways?

This is a fun sexy read by three talented authors that can pull you in from the first page and hold your interest to the very end. Each has spot appearances by family and friends that the reader has met in previous stories, but all stand alone. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and would recommend that you pick it up. You will get a fun, sexy and hot read, and who could go wrong with that.

A heartwarming Christmas anthology contains three stellar romances in I'm Your Santa.

Lori Foster brings back fan favorites in The Christmas Present. Beth Monroe is running back home. Her wild weekend with friend Levi Masterson has her shaken. She thought that getting back at her cheating fiancé with Levi would even the score but it caused her to rethink her true feelings for Levi. Going home to face her family of dad Kent and step mom Brooke, plus Noah and Grace and Ben and Sierra has here feeling anything but more confused. Levi is willing to take on her whole clan to prove he is the real deal. This is another Foster gem filled with lover, romance and most of all family.

Its A Wonderful Life by Karen Kelley has actor Jeremy Hunter hitting rock bottom. Jeremy needs clean up his playboy image in order to play a preacher. He goes under cover as Trey Jones, preacher. He ends up in a Two Creeks, Texas. A freak injury to his ankle has him staying in town longer then he planned. His meeting fourth grade teacher Bailey Tanner sends sparks that make it hard for him to maintain is cover. The misconceptions and chemistry between Bailey and Jeremy are exceptional. Revisiting with Bailey's brother Wade and wife Fallon is icing on the cake.

Dianne Castell's Home For Christmas has waitress LuLu Cahill broken hearted at Christmas. Her ex dumped her leaving her pregnant and alone. She meets a handsome stranger Sebastian Moore who left at the altar on his wedding day. These two unlikely lovers get swept up in the Christmas magic. After they are tricked will they be able to stay together. Friends and family from O'Fallon's Landing add an extra special joy to this story.
