With a Sankey 4169 Ecomax compost bin with door you can you can increase your recycling potential, improve your garden soil and help to do your bit for the environment. Use a dedicated compost bin, such as the Sankey ConvertaBin, and choose the biggest size bin your garden and home will support. You can compost garden waste (such as grass clippings, leaves, prunings and weeds), pet bedding, including rabbits, hamsters and gerbils( vegetarian pets only), cardboard (such as toilet roll and food packaging) and kitchen waste including vegetable and fruit peel, teabags and coffee grounds. You should avoid thorny prunings, weeds that are seeding or flowering, newspaper, cooked meat or fish (as it will attract flies and vermin) and diseased plants. Never compost animal waste, plastic, disposable nappies, ash, fat or oil.
Here are some helpful tips to get you on your way to a successful compost. When starting out, you need to gather your material together. You need roughly equal quantities of dry woody stems and wet leafy waste. Add your material in layers--if the mix is dry, add water, then replace the lid and leave covered until you have more compost to add. It is better to add a bucketful of waste rather than a handful or two. Make sure there is adequate drainage--ideally, place the bin on open soil to allow excess liquid to drain away. Shred as much material as possible, especially hard and woody material so there’s a bigger surface area for the microbes to work on.

Exactly descibed.Good item ( a little lightweight) although I have had to use some tent pegs to secure it to the ground as where we have it the ground is un even. But good value for money and delivered which is always a bonus.

dissappionted it did not have a base,otherwise it seems to be alright keep putting the plant material into it only time will tell if it is going to be successfull
It was a bit like having a darlek delivered but apart from trying to get it through the front door it was great. Present for my mother in law for xmas and she was very pleased. Easy to use - just put it in the garden and off you go. No assembly required.
