4.0 out of 5 stars Great graphic horror story 7 Oct 2005
By Gisli Jokull Gislason VINE™ VOICE
Format:Unknown Binding|Amazon Verified Purchase
It is a picture book for adults, a horror story that reads like a movie.

A US navy submarine picks up a distress beacon at the botom of the Mediterranean Sea. They dive down to investigate and find a lost Soviet submarine and a underground complex, a temple or so it appears and then everything starts to go wrong.

Claustrophobic surroundings, mysterious occurrences, Nazi secrets and an ancient civilization that disappeared long, long ago. Unlike many stories of its kind this one delivers an explanation and every thing adds up. Made me look up the god Mot and the Ugarit.

The book also has a nice twist, but I better not spoil that.

Would make a great movie, but it is a very good graphic novel.

Also this is a three part story all in one volume so it is a good buy (my local library only had the first 2 parts and I had to buy it to see how it ends).

3.0 out of 5 stars not the best dorison 4 July 2010
By Mennert - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Unknown Binding
allthough it's kind of static in the drawings it's an okay read.
typical european style fantasy/tech-thriller.

i must say it's not the best Dorison read.
watch out for 'the third testament' or 'prophet'. Also his take on XIII is very good.

2.0 out of 5 stars Fabulously awful 13 Mar 2007
By Listening Closely - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Unknown Binding
Sanctum is a turgid technothriller which you can't put down until it's finished, then you'll want to throw it in the trashcan and wash your hands. It's just one startlingly stupid plot turn after another. Dan Brown would be proud. The author has drawn inspiration from Brown, epic Hollywood movies, and a little bit of Mike Mignola. That last part keeps it from becoming wholly inedible.
