Product Description

Manufacturer's Description

Enjoy skipless music playback, photo slideshows, and videos with the sleek, easily-pocketable SanDisk Sansa e260 flash memory digital audio player with 4 GB of storage. It features MP3 and WMA playback and is also compatible with secure PlaysForSure WMA files downloaded from online music stores and subscription services (like MTV's Urge, Napster, and Rhapsody). It also includes a brightly colorful 1.8-inch color TFT LCD screen.

The e260's distinctive, high-strength and lightweight back cover is made with an advanced Titanium alloy from Liquidmetal Technologies that is stronger than steel and highly resistant to scratches and wear. On the front, you'll find easy-to-use, backlit controls that make it a snap to navigate through the device's intuitive menus. The player also sports a microSD expansion slot for additional memory capacity and support for SanDisk TrustedFlash and gruvi content cards, which can be shared with mobile phones. A rechargeable lithium-ion battery provides up to a 20-hour battery life.

You can use the included SanDisk Media Converter software to convert most popular video formats (MPEG-4, WMV, DivX) into the 15 fps (frames per second) MJPEG format that plays on the Sansa device. JPEG and BMP still images also get converted and downsized, and can be displayed in a slideshow. Voice recording and programming recorded from the radio are saved in WAV format.

Sansa e200 series players use PlaysForSure technology. Look for the PlaysForSure logo if you're shopping for a portable music or video device and you want to make sure the digital music and video you purchase will play back on it every time. Match the PlaysForSure logo on a large selection of leading devices and online music stores. If you see the logo, you'll know your digital music will play for sure. Choose from a large number of digital music and video stores, including MTV's Urge, Rhapsody, Yahoo!, MSN Music, MusicMatch, MusicNow, Napster, Wal-Mart Music Downloads, and many more.

Awesome Player 14 Aug 2006
This player is very small...and if you are wondering whether to go for the iPOD Nano, or the Sandisk....there is absolutely no competition. This guy wins hands down.

This player has 20 hrs battery life as opposed to the iPODs 14, it plays videos (mp4), where the iPOD doesnt. It looks really cool with the scroll wheels photon blue glow..The screen is massively bigger than the Nano, and the player is the same dimensions as the Nano (apart from depth) and the sound quality is pretty damn good.

The screen is fantastic quality, and i have hardly any issues with this player at all. The interface to add music is literally drag and drop into a removable drive, and it charges via USB.

The only qualms you may have with this item that i oculd think of are 1) You cannot make a customEQ (set your own levels of bass/treble etc) and 2)It is a bit complicated to make a "Go" or "Now Playing" list while already listening to a song. But once you figured that out its easy :)

All in all.......what more can you ask for?

I bought this e 260 a few weeks ago for my daughter and both of us think its great. She wanted an I pod, but as I cant afford the price of all the downloads she wants, this MP3 player is a better option, Sound quality is superb, standard head phones are not bad, but when played through some decent full sized phones I didn't believe MP3 could sound this good. Volume is not a problem with this version of the software, It comes set to a reduced level so as not to damage young ears but can be increased via one of the menus for deaf old ..... like me. Drag and drop, is a doddle, and using the supplied software is also great . You will need to use this to load photos and videos though, but you will be able to use the player with almost any pc, as XP recognises it as soon as you plug in as an external Drive. Controls are good and easy to use. Scroll wheel less fussy than my Ipod. Battery life is very good, although it a pity you cant listen while its charging.. The construction is high quality and although it looks a little like the last gen nano, its a much stronger better made bit of kit.
Also has the ability to store an extra 2 gb on the micro sd card which can also slip into my phone. all in all a great buy for those on a bit of a budget.

Nice little gadget 11 April 2007
By Jimbo VINE™ VOICE
Ordered this from amazon, very impressed with it. On first use it seemed quiet (I like my music loud) but a simple download of firmware sorted that and all is good now. Had to format the player to get rid of the preloaded content. Thankfully it is very quick and easy to transfer music using Windows Media Player. It only took about 3 minutes to transfer 2GB worth of music.

Screen is great, shame you cant change the colour scheme though. Player seems tough and durable, and looks v smart especially when lit up.

Battery life seems fine though have not had the chance to test that out fully yet. All in all a fine MP3 player, v easy to use and plus's in the form of expandable memory and replaceable batteries

Only gripe is the company selling the player on Amazon's behalf just sent it in normal 1st class post .. which as I have found out is not very reliable and has potential for things to go missing.
