1.0 out of 5 stars Cheap tat 2 Sep 2012
Verified Purchase
Bought this as I liked the look. But sadly after using it only four or five times one of the card reader pins detached and it no longer works.

To make matters worse, because it broke after 60 days (only 60 days!), I was told that I couldn't get a refund. And usually Amazon, and their traders are pretty good about that.

So avoid the reader. And avoid the seller.

1.0 out of 5 stars Looks nice but badly engineered 3 Mar 2013
I bought this product due to the reputation of the Sandisk brand and the clean aesthetics of the product. However, the card drawer/grooves do not allow the card to travel well into the reader. Often you have to try a few times before you've lined the pins up with the card. The other day, I was on a job: the pins bent and that was that. Having never experienced this before, even with much cheaper units, I was pretty shocked and disappointed that it let me down. I have now bought a Kingston reader and find it much better quality - much less shake and consequently less risk of a misalignment of the pins.

1.0 out of 5 stars BAD PIN DESIGN 3 Jan 2013
Verified Purchase
I bought this card reader a week ago thinking it was a good product. ( Sandisc usually are )
Sadly on this occasion i was wrong. After using it twice the pin on the left side or the Compact Flash reader bent ..... it is now useless. Did anyone test this product before it went into production ? The designer has obviously gone for style over function.
Come on Sandisc get it together ! It's not as if it is a cheap item !
If you use C.F. cards do not bother with this, it will let you down.

3.0 out of 5 stars Card reader 31 Aug 2012
Verified Purchase
This reader was bought solely to enable the transfer of raw and jpeg files. So far it only works on a PC, though it was intended for a Mac with usb3. The transfer stops before completion every time. Sandisk offer no help, they say it must be my Mac's fault if it works on a PC. Well, everything else works on my Mac...I'm still trying to resolve this issue.

1.0 out of 5 stars An embarrassment to the SanDisk brand 27 Jan 2014

Quite possibly the worst card reader I've had.

The pins in the CF slot are far too easy to bend
The SD slot died after 3 months or so and won't read any cards
Constantly disconnects so that you have to keep unplugging it and plugging it back in.
The "stand" is worse than useless

Avoid it like the plague

5.0 out of 5 stars great product
Transfer speed is so good over USB 3.0, CF card slot seems sturdy unlike some cheap ones I've used in the past.

1.0 out of 5 stars Interferes with wireless mice
I am not a fan, let's be honest. The "leg" design is very poor (i had to throw the leg away and blutack the unit to my desk) and it interferes with my wireless mouse (MS 5000). Read more
