Jesse Fuller was a great one-man-band performer, accompanying himself with guitar, cymbals, harmonica, kazoo and a kind of toe-operated bass instrument that he invented himself and christened the "fotdella."
Don't make the mistake of thinking, though, that this makes his material naff! Clapton deemed "San Francisco Bay blues" a worthy inclusion on his "Unplugged" album.
The tunes on this CD are bluesy but catchy, with a happy feel to them. If you're fairly new to blues music, this title is ample proof that acoustic blues isn't all the discordant, inaccessible stuff that you thought.
As well as the title track, "Crazy about a woman" is a further highlight, as is "Midnight cold", but all the tracks deserve a good listening. A further bonus is the price - be honest, you can't go wrong!
