The Samsung Galaxy Tab Clip-in case is specifically designed for the Galaxy 7.7 inch and offers protection and functionality.
The Tablet simply clips into the case and holds your tablet in a landscape position when opened. The case can be adjusted to hold the device in a comfortable touch screen typing position or in a more upright video watching position.
The cover is designed specifically for the 10.1 tablet and will hold it securely allowing it to charge and be used/viewed (power required for charging).
The featured curled-hinged-section on the rear, closes the case. This action then holds the cover securely closed preventing damage to the unit or screen.
The case has access holes so you can charge the Tablet without removing it from the case and is finished in a hard wearing synthetic material that gives the product a rugged but stylish look and feel.

Bit disappointed - it's only thin plastic but the Tab fits securely in it and it does protect the screen when the cover is closed. That's the only good thing about it.The picture accompanying the cover shows it used to stand the Tab in landscape orientation - my advice is never do this!! The cover does not lock into this position and depends on friction to remain upright, the lips of the cover are quite hard and rigid, they will very easily slip apart if placed on any hard surface. I tried it with my three day old Tab 7.7, the "Tab half" of the cover slipped forwards whilst the other half didn't - this pushed the Tab portion over the edge of a table causing the Tab to fall onto a hard tile floor and cracking the screen. I would suggest looking for a cover that locks securely into the landscape configuration. It's very difficult to stand the thing as shown on the photo.

I ordered the product on 5th June. The cover I received is not the same as the one Amazon displays. I believe the one Amazon displays is for 3G version as the slot in the middle designed to expose the SIM and Micro SD card slots. The one I received has only a small slot on bottom left for Micro SD card which would be for Wi-Fi only version. I think either way it is not a big deal as one normally would not require frequent access to SIM or SD card slots.
The product is good quality and elegant, does offer some grip when holding unlike the tablet itself.
Points to note, if you want to use as a stand you should be careful and should only do it in landscape mode in an almost vertical angle as it has no locking mechanism but relies on friction with the surface. The version I received has soft plastic in surface contact area to increase the friction but still you should avoid to place it close to table edges etc.
When holding it in hand, the outer surface of the side where tablet is placed provides good grip but the other side is too smooth and slippery.
6 month after the tablet went on sale, the accessories are not available which is typical of Samsung for poor product support. Even at reduced price, this book cover is quite expensive for what it is.

I bought some time ago an unofficial smart cover for this tab, and found out that wasn't for the 7.7 as described. I was very pissed off, so I chose not to waste my money on other product and bought this book cover. The item has arrived one day earlier, and that made me even happier. It's simply perfect, fit the tablet without problems and leave the sim slot and the power on/off button accessible when closed on the sides. It has rubber edges, so it can be used even as a stand to watch movies (on a super amoled plus screen it's a joy). I cannot be more satisfied for this purchase. If you are looking for a thin but useful cover for your galaxy tab 7.7, buy this one.
