I too read all the reviews about the samsung internet dongle and people not being able to use it but still decided to buy it at the same time as my samsung LED telly from amazon and it's amazing.
I struggled with the wireless code for about 20 minutes until I realised I'd not changed the letters i was imputting from caps to non-caps and the bt hub password I was imputing was in upper case BUT I was entering my bt home hub password in lower case. you change the case using the red, green, yellow, blue buttons on the remote like you would use to control the remote. The reviewer saying it doesn't have numbers to enter is wrong, it clearly says in the set up that you use the remote to add in numbers 0-9 and the left right buttons to select the letters. (p.s. password can be found on the back of your bt home hub or your router password if you have set one). Also as you are doing the set up don't touch the volume or the channels or anything like that as you may need to start the process again. When I made an error I just pulled out the dongle. and put it back again and started from the beginning.
If I did all the above first time around I would have been set up in 2 minutes.
Then once I was synced with my home hub I updated the internet services to download all the apps to the TV's memory. This took about an hour to download so don't do this if you are wanting to watch tv or a film immediately, BUT once this had happened i was then able to get bbc iplayer, daily motion videos, youtube clips, and stream films from love film. It also had google maps and facebook and twitter. A photo manager, some more games, weather applications, a history channel app with what happened this day in history.
It's amazing. I just watched an iplayer episode of a BBC comedy show in great quality streamed to my tv with no pc involved. The quality of the ipayer on a 40" screen i thought would be not that great but it seems to upscale. much much much better than lap top viewing. The Love film app means you can pay £[] a month and stream the love film offers. no more trips to the video shop.
Its the future and don't be put off by the other reviewers not really knowing how to set it up, I am glad I ignored those, as its total genius once its running.

Bought this to go with a Samsung TV I bought for my parents for Christmas. It is simply plug & play as the TV auto detects the device and asks you for password to connect to your home wi-fi network. Connected, updated apps and tested with BBC iPlayer app - Initial results not good. The program stopped and started (poor buffering) and froze the app on occasion to the point where it could not realistically be used. I thought the TV app was the problem as these are in early stages. Found a feature on TV to test bandwidth connection speed, and this is key to succesfully finding the best location for this dongle. It can be fitted directly to the USB port (borderline results on limit of 1.5Mbps I think it said on TV), also comes with a 90 degree adaptor which my TV didn't like at all (I think it wasnt even detected with this attached - don't use), and a short USB extension cable say 2' long and some self adhesive velcro pads to attach it to the back of the tv (results were worse while strapped to the back of the TV). I had used all options up but with experimentation found bandwidth was maximum when the device was as far away from the TV as possible - in free space. In my case, just left dangling down behind the TV cabinet on its 2' cable gave great results. I think it increased from 1.5Mbps to 3.5Mbps, and the Samsung TV states 1.5Mbps as a min. Tested BBC iPlayer out again and all is good now - it is a real functional source of alternative content. (For reference, the TV is located in corner of ground floor front living room, while the wifi router is located in upstairs back bedroom.)

You may wonder why you need a Samsung special WiFi dongle instead of any of the other more widely available brands. The answer lies in the fact that you cannot load device drivers on to a TV, so it has to be a specially designed device that can be configured via the TV setup menus.
As soon as the device was plugged in, it detected all the nearest wireless routers easily enough, but the only way to get it to connect successfully to my home network was to enter its MAC address into the router. Apart form this, operation was reliable and unobtrusive. The dongle is fairly compact and is hardly noticable from the front, although I am surprised Samsung did not make it connect in an upright position. (The right angle adapter is only intended for use with Samsungs' BD player).

didn't work
Following the pidgin English instructions provided didn't help as the dongle stubbornly refused to recognise our home wifi network - automatically or manually - useless!
