What Other Items Do Customers Buy After Viewing This Item?
Bought this around 10 months ago using all of my 21st birthday money (£400 at the time!!!). Thought it would be good for holidays and such as it is compact and the battery lasts 4 hours (apparently), as well as this i bought the samsung accessories pack for the camcorder which included an extra battery, some disks and a carry case.
When i got home and unpacked everything i could believe how disappointed i was. i got all the kit out and was walking around the house trying out my new gadget when suddenly the machine told me that i had an incompatible disk in the drive!!! this disk was from the accessories pack for this very model of camcorder and wasnt compatible, unbelievable!!! Also the carry case looked more like a purse with a hand just about big enough to put your hand in with no strap to put it around your waist or over your shoulder.
I decided to ignore these facts and went out and bought some cheap disks which seemed to work fine and off i went to Thailand with my girlfriend, camcorder in hand. When we got there i plugged the camcorder in straight away and it stayed charging for the first 2-3 days until we went on a day trip around the island. This was when i discovered the most heartbreaking features of this camcorder. Upon arriving at an elephant park i started to film all the scenes around me when after 15 minutes including riding an elephant i noticed that a low battery light was flashing which i ignored because i had charged this battery up for nearly 3 days. after another 5 minutes the camcorder cut out and when i put in the replacement battery i discovered all of the footage we had shot was gone.
Devastated that we had lost all of the elephant stuff we decided to try and catch the rest of the day as best as we could and so started filming again. After around 5 minutes worth of footage i recieved the next low battery warning and so to try and not repeat the same mistake i wrote the footage to the disk, this took around 10-15 minutes upon which the battery completely ran out afterwards. We finished the day and got back to the hotel with 5 minutes worth of footage from 2 batteries. How any company can justify less than an hour from a battery is disgraceful.
After that episode we went out and bought ourselves a digital camera and put the camcorder away. upon trying to get a refund for the camera i was told that because my 30 days were up i could not return it. then i discovered (to my horror) that the device had gone down from £400 to around £250 brand new in just over a month. i have looked around trying to sell this piece of junk to try and recoup some money but there not even selling at around the £60 mark which i am unwilling to sell at that low a price for even though it is a pile of junk.
