Product Description

Overview The Samsung UE55HU7500 is at the cutting edge of TV technology with an astonishing screen resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels, This resolution is four times greater than the more conventional 1920 x 1080 Full HD TVs and the detail and realism is outstanding. Although 4K video is rare at the moment, these fantastic Ultra HD sets come with 4K upscaling built-in, meaning you can get much of the benefit of 4K resolution with standard HD video. This cinematic authenticity aspect of 4K Ultra HD should instantly make the format irresistible to serious film fans. The seemingly enhanced depth within the picture, a result of the vastly increased number of pixels, even makes many viewers feel like 4K Ultra HD images are 3D, even when they're not! Also, a combination of the 3D Hyper Real Engine, Mega Contrast Ratio, Samsung Micro Dimming, and 1000Hz Motion Plus technology all work in harmony to produce pictures full of vibrant colours, deep blacks, and crisp sharp images. The picture quality really is astonishing. Even when not in use, the Samsung UE55HU7500 is stunning - slim, sleek and ultra stylish, and the range of connections means this TV will effortlessly cater to an ever more connected life style. With 4 HDMI slots, 3 USB Ports, Wireless LAN and many more features the whole family will remain connected with no need for endlessly switching cable around! Internet access is a vital extra for many with a new TV, and with the all new, better than ever Samsung Smart Hub the UE55HU7500 does not disappoint! Alongside much loved apps there is a new dedicated web browser. A fast and powerful quad core processor results in smoother interaction, ensuring this TV keeps up with the demands of a modern, digitally connected family. The Samsung UE55HU7500 is for those people that want to make a style conscious statement in their living room, coupled with the very best that technology has to offer. It is for people that refuse to compromise.

This TV is absolutely stunning!

We really don't watch TV, instead opting for movies and Netflix. I must say that compared to my old Toshiba 1080 48", this TV is a a world apart (and I was happy before).

The picture is simply stunning. Watching the papers review on BBC breakfast, you can actually read the text on the papers when they hold them up to show the headlines! Amazing.

As it comes with all the standard apps (Netflix, Amazon Prime etc), there is no need to go through the xbox to use them. It is very responsive, and changes menus and channels very quickly, and more importantly for me is it is simple to use.

Upscaled blu rays are breath taking. It is like watching the movies for the first time all over again.

The sound isn't amazing, but it is quite acceptable...after all the TV is thinner than a really thin thing. Ours is routed to a Samsung HW 750 sound bar, and the sound is almost as good as our Onkyo full theatre surround system at our other house.

It comes with 2 remotes, but you will only use one. The little dinky one, which you can talk to, does everything you need to do, and it does it fast. No doubt there will be lots of things you will tweak, but you only do that once, so the little remote will be your go to device.

Everyone bangs on about the lack of 4k content at the moment, but so what. We were all excited when we could upscale DVDs and were suitably impressed with the improved picture...same here. The TV does the upscaling, and everything looks pretty amazing.

The biggest decision is curved or flat. The curved looks great (but this is a very impressive looking TV), but it's a lot of money to fork out if you don't take to it...hence we went for the flat version.

There are a bewildering number of TV's out there to choose from. Even if you'd narrowed your choice of manufacturer down to Samsung, there's still a huge range. Hopefully my review may help you decide if this is the TV for you...

First off, the picture quality is absolutely stunning. SD isn't too bad considering you're stretching 500-odd lines across such a large area. The Freeview HD and Freesat HD tuners (and external HD input) are upscaled to UHD and really do look much better than normal HD. UHD video (from the internet) adds another 'wow' factor again. You have to get pretty close to see the pixels, and the colours are vibrant with the deepest blacks I've seen in an LED TV. The biggest issue is that you can clearly see the lines in the faces of people that previously looks rather smooth-skinned!

Technically the image gets very good reviews, and it's certainly apparent to 'normal' users. Although this, like most modern TV's, has a glossy display to best show contrast, it's bright enough that any reflections are soon forgotten. Not perfect, but I think it would be true of any TV at the moment.

General operation is very snappy, with quick-acting menus, thanks to the higher processing power of the 7500. Certainly something to consider, as it can record 2 channels at once as well as upscale HD TV from an external source all at the same time.

Inputs are pretty well laid out on the back, and you should only need to visit there infrequently anyhow. The USB sockets are quite accessible from the right hand side, near the top.

The stand means if you've only got a small cabinet to place it on, it'll still fit. Some brands have stylish stands that need the full width of the TV underneath them.

Verified Purchase
Bought this 2 weeks ago, picture quality is excellent and so far really pleased. Slightly overwhelming to the sheer size of the choices available but having spent an afternoon searching around we're far more clued up and there are a lot of apps that are pretty useless to us.
- now need to get separate items such as hard drive which is as standard but still a pain and we would definitely recommend using separate speakers (as is the norm with these TV's) as the sound doesn't match the picture quality. This is our first U-HD and the quality of the picture is so clear its almost not real!!
Company we used responded quickly to any questions and would recommend them for future use - currently the envy of all our friends (and delivery driver) - worth the price..... ? ah treat yourself!!

Ok firstly two things. I just purchased the 65inch version of this tv (UE65HU7500), and i did not buy it from amazon (sorry Amazon i still love you). I got it from ravs appliances which were a full £400 cheaper than currys (or anywhere else). And next day delivery and fantastic service> i'll send them an email later to thank them.

Anyway onto the review

I only got this yesterday so have not gone through the full functionality yet (i will put up a fuller review later)

Set-up

This is a very big tv, but thankfully very slim and not that heavy. So putting it up was not as painful as i thought. Although it did take 2 of us a near 2 hours. There are a generous amount of sockets in the back, including usb which is handy BUT i was hoping for a one connect box so i could just trail one wire, rather than having loads in the back. A minor point but slightly annoying.

Looks

They say personality is more important than looks, don't believe them. This tv is gorgeous to look at. The bezel is incredibly slim, so slim that what you get is pretty much all picture. 65inches of pure picture. Samsung are definitely a cut above the rest in terms of the style stakes. The tv is simple stunning to look at, even while off.

remote controls

It actually comes with two remote controls, one a fuller remote and one that is a point and click version. Its quite fun pointing that lazer pointer at the screen to select menus etc.

Menus

menus are slick and quick. I browsed through a few of the smart hub apps, including youtube, and it was quick and painless. I will go through more tonight and then post up my thoughts.

4k content

Lets face it that's what we are all here for.
