This TV is 3cm thick.
3cm.
You might care that it's nice and bright, or that the colours are very nice, or that the contrast is excellent, but seriously, 3cm.
Things I like about it:
* 3cm
* lots of HDMI and other inputs
* surprisingly good sound for such a thin TV (better than my much thicker, 4 year old 40" Sony)
* the stand is heavy and feels like it keeps the TV secure
Things I don't like:
* Samsung have always sucked at TV menus (especially compared to Sony), but the EPG is quite good
* the input connectors on the back can be a bit fiddly because of how they are positioned sideways (this is a side effect of the TV being 3cm thick)
* the remote control looks like it fell out of the 80s
* the stand is glass, which seems like a weird choice for a 3cm, 9kg plastic TV (I have a new baby, so plates of glass around the place make me nervous)
* No ARC (Audio Return). This is a bit of a shame as it means that when wallmounting with an AV Receiver you need to run a S/PDIF cable back to the receiver instead of the audio going over HDMI. It's a feature that's on a lot of newer TVs, but Samsung seem to have chosen not to include it.
One minor thing - if you're going to wall mount the TV, note that it needs M8 (8mm) VESA screws and is a 200x200mm mounting. This may force you to use a more heavy duty mount than is really necessary for a TV that weighs less than 10kg. Lots of the lightweight mounts only have M6 (6mm) screw holes, or don't accept 200x200mm mounts.
In my opinion, the pros I list above *vastly* outweight the cons. With careful selection of other AV parts and wallmounts, they don't really matter, and you're left with a good looking, hard performing TV. Did I mention it's 3cm thick? Blows my mind every time I see it ;)
