Definitely worth it,
By Jane May "JMay" (london, uk) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Samsung UE37C5800 37-inch Widescreen 50Hz Slim LED Full HD TV with Freeview HD (Electronics)
We bought this TV to replace our ancient, bulky Matsui TV. We were a bit hesitant at first (who isn't, when forking out that kind of money!), but we finally pulled together and bought it. And what a TV it is!
Whilst we were a bit skeptical of all the hype behind LED backlit TVs, we can state that it really is a step up from standard LCDs. The screen is amazing-and the LED backlighting brings out the most vibrant colours! The picture quality is amazingly clear; coupled with this, you get an experience that is truly something else. If you have a PS3, XBOX 360 or a blu ray player you're in for a treat. It's also worth mentioning at this point that Freeview HD really is quite good, though if you're already a Sky HD or Virgin HD customer it is an unnecessary expense. The visual quality is astounding; however, at the moment, program selection is slightly lackluster; there are only 3 HD channels (BBC HD, Channel 4 HD and ITV HD)and a large chunk of broadcasting is simply upscaled. However, Freeview HD is still in its infancy, and channel 5 is due to release their own HD channel by the end of this year; hopefully things will start looking up. The first thing you'll notice when you take the TV from the box is how ridiculously slim it is; it's beautiful to look at when it's set up. It's also (relatively) easy to assemble, though the instructions aren't particularly clear. Of course, the downside of such a stupendously slim TV is that the sound isn't brilliant; it's not terrible, though it feels a bit flat and lacks bass. I would recommend looking into a separate sound system if you buy this product. Overall, aside from the minor issue with the sound (which pretty much all HDTVs face) it's an amazing piece of technology. I've been shopping with Amazon for a while now, and I've yet to be disappointed. Delivery was very prompt, and the deliveryperson checks to see if the product is in good condition before you take it off his hands. Definitely Recommended.

Brilliant, Worth every penny,
This review is from: Samsung UE37C5800 37-inch Widescreen 50Hz Slim LED Full HD TV with Freeview HD (Electronics)
I bought the TV about a month ago now and all i can say is WOW.
The colours and contrast are fantastic and it brings a new dimension to regular tv. I have it coupled to a new Xbox 360 and Ps3 and the gameplay is much better than before. When watching a Blu ray the colours and picture sharpness are just amazing. One of the first things i watched on the tv was a recent England football match, this tv made the pitch so green and the shirts so red that my friends thought we were watching it on the HD channel and were very surpised when i told them it was standard freeview. Unfortunatly i cannot comment on the freeview HD as my area is yet to recieve the signal required. The tv is packaged well and suprisingly heavy considering how thin it is. The main source of the weight being the thick glass stand that it sits on. I liked the way that samsung have included some proper cable clamps and some cable tidy as it channels all the wires behind the central support. One small fault i have found is the sound quality or its lack of it. Luckily i don't use the tv speakers anymore as i bought some mid range computer speakers that plug into the headphone socket. These improve the sound 110%.

Samsung UE37C5800 37-inch Widescreen 50Hz Slim LED Full HD TV with Freeview HD,
This review is from: Samsung UE37C5800 37-inch Widescreen 50Hz Slim LED Full HD TV with Freeview HD (Electronics)
Excellent picture quality and functionality. I have had Sony TV's(KDL32V2000 most recently) but decided upon the Samsung after reading excellent reviews and of course the price. The Samsung UE37C5800 is only let down by the poor speakers, but as the TV is only a few cm thick it's no suprise. I have put the sound through a Denon hifi with Q Acoustic speakers and it's a fantastic package. No problems at 50hz with blur etc but i have yet to connect it to the internet (£50 for the adaptor).Overall an excellent TV with a very happy customer.
