Got this TV from Amazon as it was £100 more expensive everywhere else. Its a great looking set, feels really high end. Actually getting a TV that worked properly was another deal though. The first one arrived with dead pixels, which Amazon, to their credit, agreed to replace quickly. The next one arrived in a smashed box (courtesy of CityLink) and had blemishes on the screen. Amazon sent out a new one, which (touch wood) has worked fine so far.
Im using the TV as a PC monitor mainly, and once you set it up for this using the advanced menus on the TV then it really does look gorgeous. The quality is A*. I use it for desktop applications, gaming and movies, and it switches between them all with no sweat. Has a few nice features like on the fly preset image mode switching so that you can have a preset for movies and another for games etc, changes in a second and works lovely.
I also have it set up with my PS3 and Xbox 360, both of which are fine on it, the colours are a little vibrant for my tastes, but its not unbearable.
One issue I have noticed is a little bit of ghosting when dark objects move across a light background. A good example is fast scrolling text on a white webpage, or a dark object moving across a bright sky. This can make dark objects appear less sharp when the camera moves a little.
Cons -
* The input ports are on the back facing the edge, so if you dont have right-angled HDMI cables then you have cables looping round the side.
* Screen is glossy, so reflects light and any other display sources you might have. Also picks up grime a bit easily. (The trade off is a more pleasing image when the environment is right.)
* Can take a bit of fiddling with contradictary options to get the display 'just right'.
* Some image ghosting with dark on light.
Pros -
* Looks fantastic.
* When properly configured, phenomenal display in movies, games, PC use and general TV.
* Very impressive sound for such a thin set. Nice things like changeable audio profiles are nice too.
All in all, comes recommended from me, shame about the hassle getting a working set, but I suppose the fact that I got one in the end is a credit to Amazon customer service.
