Kid's 3D glasses? 20 Nov 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase
Nice idea from Samsung but not particuarly well exicuted. Let me explain - I bought two pairs of these for our friends girls aged 7 and 5 to wear when they come over to watch 3D cartoons with with us. The original Samsung glasses supplied with our TV are so big and heavy that even adults complain after an hour or two of wearing them and the children have to hold them onto their faces. So when the Kids glasses arrived they were very excited. Yes they are slightly smaller but not by much. The 7 year old could wear them ok but the 5 year old still had to hold them to her face so not ideal.

Plus points -
They do have rechargeable batteries and a USB lead to connect to a suitable power source for charging
They look slightly cooler than the adult glasses
If your children wear glasses then these will probably still fit over them

The minus points -
Still on the big side
No adjustment for different ages

Normal Samsung glasses are too large for small heads, so I bought a pair of these for my 10 year old son. These fit him well & he is happy with compared to the normal ones.

Having said that, I do agree with the review of another reviewer, who says that for younger children they may actually still be too big and heavy. I think Samsung almost need to introduce a smaller "Juniors" size for children around 6 years of age, or perhaps some way of adjusting the size - perhaps a strap or telescopic type stems for placing behind your ears.

I am giving theses glasses a 3 rating because they fit my son well & also that 3D TV at home is in reality still in it's infancy - there will be issues with early adoption of this type of thing. the pricing still needs to come down - I would expect a pair of glasses to cost no more than £20 & this is the main reason that I have not given these a 4 rating. Perhaps Samsung could use cheaper packaging, rather than the tough casing box that this comes in - that would have a positive impact!

Roll on True 3D that doesn't require active glasses!!!

Good glasses, but be careful with the Samsung tv model you are trying to use them with. Bought these following recommendation from a salesman in an electrical retail store to find they don't work on the new Samsung 2011 D series 3D TV's.

Apparently the C series use infrared signals between tv and glasses and the D series use Bluetooth (which these glasses don't support).

Shame as the kids love them.

These glasses would not sync with my tv as they work with infrared and my samsung tv uses bluetooth. So sent them back. This need fact needs to be specified in the description.
