There's not a lot to say about DVD burners these days.
This one is quiet and cheap and so far has been perfectly reliable.

Samsung SH-S223C 22X SATA Dual layer DVD Writer DVD±RW Black
Well burners nowadays all seem to be fine, it's pretty hard to find one that doesn't live up to expectations.
I put this one in and it was instantly recognised on vista 64, I'm satisfied with how it performs, burning CD R/+-RW, DVD R/+-RW, DL/ etc. Is quite fast, and thus far it's working to perfection, I've given it 5 stars, but maybe I should have given it 4, because the reading of disks is a little on the slow side compared to my LG ones.
But I decided to give it 5*s as it hasn't let me down yet, for this price, I would say if your a little short of cash, like I was, go for it, it works a treat.
It comes very well packaged, so you know it will arrive at your doorstep the way if left the dealer. (Providing royal mail are careful, as sometimes they're not)!!
Give it a go, it's a bargain.

Avoid this drive for Windows 7 users
This drive is cheap and effective, but most people are probably on XP or 7. XP it works fine, no issues but on Windows 7 it slowly fails in a sence that the drive is dying. Read more

Gave up after 2/3 years
Ive had this drive for around 2/3 years and 6 months ago it just packed up, the tray constantly opens when you insert any CD/DVD and doesnt read them, it also opens randomly. Read more

Worked well for just over a year then stopped working

Doesn't read disks fast enough
Although I have a new/fast PC, with Windows 7, this drive reads disks far too slowly,
