4.0 out of 5 stars Four and a half stars 3 July 2011
By Frank
I posted a review for this phone about a week ago, soon after I got it; but it has not been published for some reason! So, here we go again.
This is the first Smart phone I've had and was a bit frightened of it at first but soon got used to it. The screen is very sensitive so a bit of practice is needed to get your text right first time.
I've downloaded a few apps which all worked perfectly. The phone and text are simple to use but it took me some time to get used to the various other functions. I was showing it to a nephew who quickly showed me how to use and manipulate the icons and apps.
It was easy to connect to my Google mail but I had to download an app to connect my Yahoo account (all very easy to do)
Battery life is a small problem; if I don't use it much then I charge it about every 2 or 3 days. Turning it to 2G instead of 3G helps a lot. It's allright when at home to charge it frequently but remember to fully charge it before going out for the day!
Altogether a super phone and I suppose I'm being a bit mean with only a 4 star rating.

5.0 out of 5 stars A fantastic phone 2 Jun 2011
By booksy
I am very phone fussy. I got rid of my HTC Wildfire which I had on contract. I just didn't take to it for some reason - the screen seemed quite fussy, texting wasn't that easy on it and, although many people love the HTC phones, I couldn't get on with mine. I sold it on eBay and bought a Nokia C3-01 instead. This was faulty and kept freezing mid message. Plus, if you're used to a capacitive touch screen, the resistive screen on the C3-01 might not suit. I then bought a Samsung Tocco which was a great phone but once I started using it, I realised it didn't come with a wi-fi option (something you'd expect for £129). I returned the phone to Virgin and bought a £79 Samsung Galaxy Apollo instead ... okay, this is probably going to sound very fussy, but the icons and writing were tiny - not something I'd expected, given the fact that the screen was a decent enough size.

So, on to the Samsung Galaxy Fit - finally a phone that I can get on with. The screen is clear, large enough to accommodate sizeable icons (but not so huge as to feel you're carrying a brick around). Texting is a doddle - I always found touch screen texting a little tricky but the size of the buttons are great; and you have the option of a 3x4 layout (the traditional keyboard), a QWERTY layout or two handwriting options (although you'd probably want to buy a stylus if this is the way you choose to write messages). The phone is incredibly easy and intuitive to use - I haven't even looked in the manual and it's easy to customise too. Plus, you have full access to the Android marketplace (my guess is that you're either happy with the Android option and, if not, you're going to be opting for an iPhone instead). Personally, I think Android has enough to offer and is certainly preferable to Nokia's Ovi store.

5.0 out of 5 stars Samsung Galaxy Fit - Excellent Phone 24 July 2011
I ordered this phone direct from amazon and recieved it in 4 working days. I am also very phone fussy and have spent a good couple of years trying to find the right phone.

It really does everything the higher priced smartphones does and in some respects i think it does it better! Samsung have added some really nice features like mobile office and a 'notifications bar' which you can slide down from the top which tells you when you have emails/facebook stuff/texts and calls. The battery life is pretty good as i use most of the features on a daily basis and since the last charge it lasted 4/5 days. Also really easy to put media items on it, i have just dragged and dropped onto the microSD card. There is downloadable software with it but i have not yet found the need for this. Most apps are now available from the android market place, really quick and easy to download.

If you are looking for a reasonably priced smartphone that does everything i can't recommend this phone enough :-)

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent well priced smartphone 8 July 2011

Amazon Verified Purchase
This phone has been reviewed already in much detail and I agree with what has been said. I cannot afford or justify the cost of an i-phone or other more costly smart phone and feel this is very good value for money and does everything I want it to do. I particularly like the large display, I tried out a Sony Ericsson Experia X10 Mini Pro but it is just too small and difficult to use and the display is hard to read. Also I was put off by recent press coverage about radiation levels in mobiles and the Mini Pro came out the worst for this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very good smart phone 22 Oct 2011
By ByeR
This is my first smart phone but I have had no problems whatsoever. Everything about the phone seems pretty straight forward and user friendly and I was able to navigate my way round most of it without referring to any instructions.
Nice size, not too small not too big and feels quite lightweight but no flimsy buttons like my last phone. I keep 3G and GPS turned off until I want to use them which has helped conserve battery life, so the phone lasts about 5 days between charging for me.
When the phone receives a message it initially gives an audible alert and lights up. However, I was initially dissapointed to find that the screen then reverts to a black screen and there is no LED light to tell you that there is a message. You need to physically press a button to light up the screen to see if there are any notifications. I was missing messages and would have held back a star when rating this phone. However, I have since found that I could download a free App (easy to do even for me!)that displays a moving notification on the black screen which has rectified the problem completely, so I recommend doing this.
I feel I have alot of phone for the money and it does everything I could ever want from a phone and more.
I really love it and very pleased with my choice.
