The monitor has a great picture quality, and looks great when taking a feed from my laptop.

However:

It does require quite extensive set up, both at the source computer and on the monitor, to get a good picture.

There is no height or angle adjustment on the stand.

The buttons are touch sensitive - AND ARE UNDERNEATH the screen. I only discovered this by accident, as they do sometime work if you press on the front. There is no indication of this in the instructions.

Finally, I was only a few minutes away from returning the monitor as broken, as all I could see on the screen was a message indicating that the input cable was not connected. I only found out be accident that the monitor has two modes, one for RGB (which I had plugged in) and the other for DVI input, and the latter is the default. This can be changed by the buttons, but it is not clear from the instructions to do this.

Got it all working in the end, but did take an hour of frustration.

Excellent LED monitor 23 July 2011
When I received this monitor I thought that it was very poor after using an LCD for a number of years. What I realised after a few days use is that I had not set up the monitor properly. I was so used to using a computer monitor out of the box. This is not so for LED backlit monitors.

I spent some time setting up the monitor as well as my graphics card settings. After doing this I have found that the monitor is simply stunning. The whites are superb, the colours are deep and distinctive and the response time is excellent.

I would definitely recomend this monitor. But beware: you have to spend some time setting it up first.

The monitor worked fine when I was using the VGA input from my old Dell laptop. But when I upgraded to a Samsung Series 9, I lost the VGA output and was forced to use HDMI. I tried the Samsung micro-HDMI to VGA adapter (costing £30 I think) with no luck. Then I tried a micro-HDMI cable with a HDMI-DVI adapter - still fuzzy. I reinstalled the drivers, tried all sorts of different resolutions but just couldn't get it to work. I'm sure a tech wizards out there will have a solution, but in the end, with the time I was spending trying to get it to work, I was better off buying an LG LED monitor with HDMI input (works fine, using it now) than to keep trying to solve the Samsung problems.
