Product Description

Product Description

Protection for your Samsung Galaxy Tab has never been better. This protective case features good quality leather with built-in d3o technology and closing strap. d3o technology is an intelligent protective material that transforms from a soft, flexible gel to a shock-absorbent casing on impact. The case can be folded back to create a handy stand, so there's no need to remove your Galaxy Tab to use it.

'd3o' is a soft and flexible material with outstanding shock absorbing properties. It's specially engineered material and intelligent molecules stiffen in response to impact to absorb the impact energy, and tests have shown it can offer upto 200 % more impact protection than cases without d30 technology.

In real terms this means that a Samsung product that is currently tested to withstand a drop of 40 cm can, with the added protection of d3o, withstand a drop of anything upto 2.2 m.

Had my case for a few days. Initially I thought it was a great case - it fits the Samsung Galaxy very well and is made of very nice materials.
However after a few days, with closer inspection, I found a few flaws using the case in my daily life.

1) The case fits quite tight, this makes the Tab a bit awkward to remove should you need to.
2) Although the general fit of the case is tight, the small strip just below the capacitive buttons on my case is a bit loose and bends upwards slightly.
3) The capacitive buttons are awkward to activate because the case does not leave enough room for them
4) The front-facing camera is obscured
5) When set up as a stand, there is a fold in the base which the first few times I needed to straighten out to stop the case-stand being wobbly.

Considering Samsung are attempting to take on Apple I would have expected them to try and aim for the same level of quality, but this case misses the mark. A great case let down by one too many little flaws.

Fairly decent case for the Galaxy tab. Certainly protects it well and looks good. However the closure is a bit fiddly, the edge of the case partially obscures the camera at the top of the screen, and standing the tab up on its long edge can be a bit wobbly because there's a fold in the case which takes a bit of wiggling to stay in place.

Overall it's pretty good, though, and all of the above problems can be corrected with minor effort.

I'm not so impressed as the first reviewer. Mind you it cost me nearly £30 as I bought the thing from [...] at the same time as buying the Samsung Galaxy Tab itself. I wouldn't say it fits like a glove, as it is in fact a very tight fit indeed. This makes it difficult to remove, which is necessary from time to time. The main problem, however, is that the case interferes with the operation of the 4 controls at the bottom of the Tab, so that this becomes a hit and miss affair. It is possible to operate the controls, but it detracts from the otherwise very smooth interface. I find myself removing the Galaxy Tab from the case (despite the difficulty) just so that I can fully enjoy the very slick interface and admire its shiny good looks which are mostly hidden from view by the case. Perhaps a silicon case would have been a better bet.Samsung Galaxy Tab Notebook/ Stand Case

This Samsung brand case for the Galaxy Tab is well made is soft, supple and well-sewn leather. The Samsung brand is discretely embossed on the front. Yet despite the brand and general quality of the case, the design isn't without flaw as the leather strips around the screen come too far onto the device, making some of the buttons difficult to press with either a stylus or your finger.

Pros:
- well-made
- nice feel
- fits the Galaxy Tab well, providing excellent protection
- ports are all accessible
- cameras are accessible

Cons:
- fit is a little too snug: it's hard to get your tablet in/out
- leather edging comes too far onto the device, making the buttons hard to access

I bought this case for my 7" Galaxy Tab GT-P1010. It holds the Tab firmly and on the whole it is usable. It has cut-outs for everything that needs them: the main camera and flash on the back, and the sockets, microphone, speakers and controls on the edges, although it leaves the corners alarming unprotected. If you want a book-style case then this is probably as good as you will get.

The problem is that Samsung appears to have designed the 7" Tab without a case in mind. One of the things I like about the Tab is that there is no wasted space and the display fills the front area to within about half an inch of the edges. However, this means there is not much unused front surface for this type of case to use to hold the Tab. Moreover, the secondary camera and light sensor are very close to the top of the front face. The result is that this case tends to obscure the light sensor, the main control area along the bottom, and the right side of the display area making it awkward to touch. If the main cut-out in the front of the case were slightly larger, slightly further to the right, and had a bevelled edge, it would probably work a lot better.

This style of case inevitably makes using the main camera slightly awkward since it is necessary to hold the front cover flap out of the way and I can't image wanting to stand the Tab vertically. This case opens and closes very quickly if you don't secure it closed, which is useful if you want to use it when commuting. However, the tongue used to securely close it is fiddly and I find it gets in the way of my left hand when I'm holding the Tab vertically. My case came with no instructions; I don't know whether that is the fault of Samsung or my supplier.
