First impressions, 7 Oct 2009
This review is from: Samsung N510 11.6 Inch Mini Notebook (atom N280 1.66ghz, 1gb, 160gb, Bt, 11.6 Inch Hd Led, Xp Home (black)) (Electronics)
Arrived this morning and it is a great looking little netbook so I will be sad to return it to Amazon becuase of a faulty wireless card. I can only reach 24Mbps wireless connection, even when connected to an N router. Samsung tried to help but simply suggested i return it as faulty.
I will have another one, the extra 1" on the screen makes a big difference when sitting next to my NC10, so don't be put off, i just hope yours works better than mine. I'm sure the next one wil be fine. The good points are the design, the screen, the keyboard, the weight etc etc, just this one thing that let's my machine down.
Time for Amazon to display their first class returns policy i think.

Gaming Netbook, 2 Dec 2009
This review is from: Samsung N510 11.6 Inch Mini Notebook (atom N280 1.66ghz, 1gb, 160gb, Bt, 11.6 Inch Hd Led, Xp Home (black)) (Electronics)
I was an early adopter of the EEE 701, Asus's first 7" netbook. I've decided it's time to upgrade! The samsung N510 has something that most netbooks and cheap laptops lack, a dedicated graphics chip, Nvidia ION. Its essentially a Geforce 9400M. Whereas on the EEE there was no dedicated graphics chip as such (Only Intel Integrated). Now I can play Unreal Tournament 2004 very comfortably at 720P, and Watch 720P movies.
The screen (11.6") is very high resolution, sharp, and it really makes the difference knowing that I can be out and about, and still play good 3D games from the last 5 years very comfortably. I've had this laptop for 1 week now and I can say that it's lived up to my expectations. Keep your eye out for the next EEE though (EEE 1201) it's also go the ION graphics, but with the advantage of a dual core Intel ION. Until then, one happy gamer.
Currently playing on Samsung N510: UT2004, Battlefield 1942, Counter Strike: Source, Half Life 2, GTA: Vice City, GTA: San Andreas, Various Playstation 1 Games on Emulator [Tekken, Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, Metal Gear Solid]

Excellent little machine, 11 Nov 2009
This review is from: Samsung N510 11.6 Inch Mini Notebook (atom N280 1.66ghz, 1gb, 160gb, Bt, 11.6 Inch Hd Led, Xp Home (black)) (Electronics)
Got mine yesterday and put Win7 Ultimate on it, surprisingly quick considering it only has 1Gb ram, a 2Gb dimm is in the post.
This is my 1st netbook and am very pleased, I use my 3G dongle with it on the move and can connect into my home PC's anywhere using logmein.
Battery life seems to be ok, my 1 year old HP notebook lasts about an hour away from the mains, my N510 has been chugging away for 2 hours now and still has 68% remaining...
