1.0 out of 5 stars faulty power switch 17 July 2012

I got this netbook just over a year ago and one day the power switch just broke. I couldn't get any support from Samsung. I took it to a computer repair place. The guy said it will cost £95 to fix it. I googled about it and there are so many people having this problems.

4.0 out of 5 stars OK for occasional use 2 Dec 2011
Bought this in August 2010 @ £265 to use on holiday for photo backup, email and web browsing on the move. It's small, neat, adequate screen and has a reasonable keyboard given that it's a netbook. Includes an ethernet port and wireless for connections in hotels. Battery life of a few hours so useable on a plane, though watching films on it will reduce that somewhat. Downsides are that the supplied 1 GB RAM simply isn't enough even for W7 Starter and more than one open app or a couple of tabs in Firefox (too slow!), so I've replaced that with a 2GB DIMM and it's a bit better and worth doing for £18. It includes an SD card slot, but I've found it a little unreliable due to occasional transfer errors necessitating a retry, which is managable but irritating with 100+ photos to download per day. Thus, I use a small external SD carder that plugs into one of the USB slots and that works fine. Overall it meets my needs with the extra RAM, but it wouldn't replace my proper laptop for daily use.

Good machine, with excellent set up and functionality. Maybe needs a bit more memory, which i purchased fairly cheaply. A good buy.

3.0 out of 5 stars Sorry to say... 22 July 2010
Firstly, it should be emphasised that I am not a techie, these are simply observations... yesterday, I purchased a N150 so that my wife and I have a netbook each (needed because I am away frequently and we need one each). Having been really impressed by the NC10 (which will now be left at home), the N150 seems an improvement in only one respect, viz. the screen being much better if there is sunlight in the room.

In other respects, the base of the N150 seems to get really quite warm (hot almost) and this can be uncomfortable if being used on a lap! The slider on switch at the front is not as useful as the NC10's side button. Then, finally, why oh why do we have to have Windows 7? I cannot see ANY improvement on XP; in fact, the reverse, it is rubbish. Having had Vista on an Advent laptop (that did not last!) this operating system seems to be slightly better than that but nowhere near as good as XP. I wish I had bought another Samsung with XP...
