5.0 out of 5 stars Love it - Excellent for the money 3 Oct 2009

Think this is a great piece of kit, especially for the price. It's very lightweight and has good battery life, some 6hrs or more. The screen is excellent having watched a couple of movies on it quite happily. The supplied software is preloaded so works almost straight out of the box. The Samsung utilities are pretty good and easy to use. I am using it mainly for working on the go so the portability issue is important to me. Like the idea of the anti bacterial keyboard. Haven't tried the webcam yet.

Drawbacks (if any) the screensize for some web pages and only one speaker, so a pair of reasonable headphones is a must.

I would recommend the following to use with this:

A decent pair of headphones or portable speakers, 2g memory upgrade,a small portable mouse,a portable DVD drive, and a small padded backpack or bag to keep it all in.

All in all very pleased with this and more than happy with Amazon for their pricing and quick delivery of it. If you want a low cost but decent spec'd netbook then this is it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Superb Bit of Kit! 16 Dec 2009

I 'ummed and erred' for ages before comitting to buy this item. Our 'big' PC has been on the way out for months and we wanted a replacement. We really only use the thing for on-line surfing, music and our digital camera. After some research we decided that a netbook would just about cover our needs and as we are on a strict budget, a proper laptop was out of the question. In the end we plumped for this netbook based on reviews on here and elsewhere.

So far thsi little machine has loaded up very quickly, we have transfered all our music and photos quickly and easily. I managed to set up a wireless home network with our other PC in minutes. The unit is light and super compact and means we will no longer have to have a huge corner of our fornt room devoted to the computer needs of our family, wich is a real boon.

IN short this little book does everything we want it to do, is neat and sturdy and I cannot so far find fault. If anything there is a bit of 'bloatware' (unnessecary programs) installed, but these took minutes to remove easily.

If you are after plain simple and highly mobile computing for basic needs, this has to be the most cost effective way of doing it. Highly reccomended.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good value for money 12 Nov 2009
I needed a budget, light-weight netbook for travelling across the world. I reluctantly left my usual laptop (MacBook Pro) behind as it was just too valuable for the kind of trip I had planned.
While I am not a big fan of MS Windows the little Samsung N130 netbook served me well. It's Samung's budget netbook. However, it comes with a fairly decent spec given the price. It is certainly enough to check your email on the go, do some web browsing, use Skype and create word documents - exactly the stuff I needed to do while travelling. I even managed to watch movies I had downloaded from iTunes. And if someone had nicked it the financial loss wouldn't have been enormous.
All in all, it does exactly what it is meant to do. I would not recommend it as your only laptop / computer given it's small screen and lack of speed. But for travelling it's excellent.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Value netbook 20 Nov 2009
Had this for a few days now and am very pleased with it. Nice size, crisp screen and fast enough for my needs (mainly surfing). Minor irritations: Only one speaker but will probably be using headphones so no big deal; Also the trackpad can be a bit annoying- the enter button is quite stiff and merely hovering the cursor over a link is sometimes enough to activate it (whether you want to or not!).
Hence only 4 stars not 5, but it's still a great little machine and am glad I didn't go for the more expensive models

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent netbook 17 Nov 2009
This notebook scores high in many online reviews and having bought it I can agree and see why so many other people rate it so highly. It really is small, easy to carry around and use. The battery life is very good at about 5 hours and it has an excellent near full size keyboard. It loads fast and as I will not load it up with too many programmes, mainly using it for word processing and internet, it will continue have a fast response in windows and boot up. The only thing people should be aware of is that the speakers are tiny for volume but, when needed, I just use light headphones. The latest netbooks may have the usual latest features and specs but this netbook will be around for a long time and is also excellent with Windows7 loaded on it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for the price 21 Jan 2010

I already have an Imac at home, but wanted something portable that I could use when I'm out and about. As I only wanted something primarily for net general browsing, streaming music and video plus a bit of word processing I didn't feel the need to get a fully-blown laptop. My budget certainly didn't stretch to a Macbook!

So after doing my research I went for the Samsung N130. I had seen the Acer Aspire models in the shops but they looked a bit flimsy to me. I placed my order and the next day delivery came up trumps.

I've been using it for general surfing and playing songs off Spotify. Screen is good and nice big keys. The mouse takes a bit of getting used to but is fine after a couple of sessions. As mentioned before the speaker is pretty rubbish so either invest in a pair of headphones or add-on speakers. I've also gone for a 2GB memory upgrade just so it zips along at a nice speed.

If you already have a primary home machine and are looking for a cheap second unit then you should give serious consideration to the N130.
