The card comes well packaged in a blister pack and the card comes supplied with an sd adaptor to access it through conventional card readers which is a nice touch. Both the card and adaptor come in a little plastic case to keep them together as the card could be easily lost as it's very small.
The blurb states 8gb should be enough for 2000 photos @10mp, 2 hours of hd video or 140 hours of music. And that the device is water, shock and magnet proof. With the sd/micro sd card market so saturated Samsung are clearly trying to differentiate their products this way.
I benched the card on my computer using CrystalMarkDisk and consistently got 15.33 read and 11.33 write speeds. Though everyone's setup up is different so speeds may vary from device to device. I also used the device in a Blackberry Bold and it seemed quick and responsive.
In conclusion if I was in the market for a micro sd card this would most likely be my first choice as performance is good, price/capacity ratio is also very good, especially considering its a similar price to lower class/capacity cards and would hit the 'sweet spot' for me. And it is billed as being a little more hardened to everyday scrapes.
An ideal card for mobile devices!
The card works perfectly in my HD cam, with none of the choppiness I was experiencing with an older 4Mb card.
It appears to be well constructed & tough, although I hope never to have to put it to the test!
I got write speeds of nearly 9Mb/sec and read speeds of around 17Mb/sec (as reported by Windows) with the card (and adapter) in the SD slot of my PC, and it "feels" fast compared with other cards I've tried.
I would certainly buy another one!
