After going through various reviews and forums, I finally decided to go ahead and buy this TV in August 2010. Check out AVForums to see how normal users (not reviewers from magazines etc.) are raving about this superb TV.
I was initially planning to buy a 46" Sony but was disappointed with the image quality. I've compared this TV's image quality to other equivalent TVs (including LG, Sony, Panasonic etc.) in various shops and this definitely has a superior image quality.
To get a better picture quality you'd need to go for a 200hz LED TV which was about £800 more when I looked into it. 100hz LED TV's will not live upto your expectations. I decided on the LE46C750 200hz as it had all that I need with breath taking picture quality.
After you buy this TV, do a search for optimal settings to start off. But don't stop there - go ahead and do minor tweaks yourself as optimal settings are based on each individual environment.
The SD picture is great & the Bluray HD image quality will blow you away. It is superb and you'll immediately get that "Money well spent" moment when you see it :-)
The TV plays movies/images from any external Hard Drive through it's USB interface and I am very impressed by the capability.
Playback Formats: AVI, ASF, MKV, MP4, 3GP, VOR, VOB, PS, TS, RMVB, FLV, DivX, XviD, H.264, H263, MPEG4, Motion JPEG, WMV9, MPEG2, MPEG1, RV, MP3, AC3, LPCM, ADPCM, AAC, HE-AACWMA
I have 2 * 1 TB drives connected to an usb hub which connects to the TV. All my Bluray MKV, AVI, MPEG movies play on the TV with superb clarity.
I haven't played any 3D movies as I don't have a 3D blu ray player yet. There aren't a lot of 3D blurays out there and I prefer to wait & buy.... Read more ›

If you are looking for a new TV , I dont need to tell you that its not an easy decision nowadays because the market is flooded. What to got for , led ? Lcd? Plasma? Whats the best frequency in hertz , 100? 200? I am sure you asked yourself a lot of these questions.
I am a techfreak and i have had 3 large TV's in the past 3 years because technology sped up and I wanted to catch up, but now I dont have to buy anything else... I bought this beautiful TV 6 weeks ago, and here are my impressions.
Design: flat, really thin, very stylish with a nice chrome finish stand. Remote control with backlight and not too complicated, buttons not too small, all in all very nice
Energy consumption: with all eco functions off and all high tech functions on, this TV has a consumption of 210 watts which is approximatly half of the energy of a 42" plasma and only roughly 80 watts more than of a led TV.
Sound: although I use a home cinema system even for watching normal tv, the speakers that were built in are certainly convincingand deliver enough loudness and clear sounds.
Picture: Switch it on , put in a bluray dvd or even a normal dvd thats upscaled by a good player, and try NOT to cry ! The picture is absolutely stunning! Remember the moments you've been staring at the TV's in the shops, thinking "wow, this is amazing!" ? With this TV you get exactly that. The 200 hertz technology with lcd backlight equals 600 hertz plasma and produces vibrant,sharp and true color pictures. Honestly, a dvd with a film from the 80s "indiana jones" looks unbelievably clear, as if it was a brandnew bluray film.
3D : Unfortunately, there is not enough material in 3d out there yet, however, the films that are available are great fun to watch with thhis television.... Read more ›

Having always bought Plasma,I must admit I was a bit apprehensive receiving my first LCD TV.
This is a very stylish set, and I loved the chrome cross stand......very very cool.
I tried SD first and was very impressed. It could easily be mistaken for HD.
Next, I tried SKY HD.....it looked amazing. The movie I had on was "The Great Escape", the quality & depth of the picture was so clear you would have thought the movie was made recently.
Then came blu ray.....WOW. This is the best picture I have seen yet on ANY TV(not seen the VT20 yet). Put on Avatar(2D to 3D) and was stunned how good it looked. 3D is not just about objects appearing to come out of the screen, the backgrounds also look amazing.(You've got to see it, to know what I mean)
I am not a gamer, so can't comment on PS3 etc.
There is not alot of 3D content at the moment, Monsters vs Aliens is the only 3D blu ray disc available at this time. Sky 3D will start full time in August. There is alot of 3D files on the net for download......if you know where to look.
Do I think 3D will take off ?.......you bet I do !!!
You will not be disapointed buying this TV. My only moan, is that I wish it was available in 52 inch.

Bought this TV as an early Christmas pressie for the family, and it delivers exactly what was expected + more.
The TV is a great size, and it's upscaling of DVD and standard def TV is rather good. It's difficult to tell the difference between SD and HD for most UK productions, but the US pulp type programmes (friends and the like)look flatter than on our previous Sony Triniton 28" CRT.
I found it took a few days of fiddling with the settings to find a combination that suited our preferences, aiming for realistic looking rather than bright and gaudy. The picture looked high contrast and overly bright straight out of the box - but I rather suspect this is the case for most flatscreens. The colours are certainly more vibrant, and the blacks are black.
We found the eco sensor excellent - the screen automatically brightens as the room brightens and dims as it dims, so my light sensitive eyes find watching it very comfortable.
The Internet TV is app based and there is no http browser, so functions are limited to what Samsung have procured. BBC iplayer is in there and a few simple java type games, ilovefilm app, and a couple of such like services. It's a shame that the ITV, C4, and 5 internet players aren't supported - but I guess there is time yet.
The media player is a nice touch. I had only temporary connection to PC using DLNA alone, but once I'd found the samsung share programme(the link wasn't on the samsung product page)and run it once I've had no problems, even though I don't use it. It happily plays networked resources in all the formats I routinely use, but does not play virtual DVDs unfortunately. That function would have been excellent, but for our purposes does not warrant the loss of a star.... Read more ›

Amazing TV for the price band, if you can live with it's flaws.
Motion plus has several settings. The lowest setting has minimal benefit but suffers no artifacts. The higher settings produce impressive smoother motion but at a cost. Read more
