2.0 out of 5 stars Buzz, Buzz, Buzz 25 July 2010
Got this TV the other day, and we were all totally wowed by the picture and sound quality, as well as all the 'internet stuff' it offered - truely excellent. However, once we had turned the volume down a little in the evening, there was a distinct buzzing sound in the room - the whole family noticed.

And it is ALWAYS there when the screen is on, not a huge issue when watching a loud film, but when a silent bit comes along - buzz buzz buzz. There is a whole thread on AVForums about the buzzing - seems you might be lucky and get a unit without this feature, but people seem to think it is capacitors or something.

Anyway, I returned the set and replaced it with another of the same model (thought I might get lucky!)- but that was exactly the same - buzzzzzzzz!

I have now returned that one as well and will try something completely different.

    2.0 out of 5 stars Another bloody LE37C650 buzzer 20 Aug 2010
    By GeoffB
Call me mister unlucky, if you like, for having good hearing, but yes I did read the other LE37C650 reviews which mentioned "buzzing",but I still decided to go with it anyway. Big mistake, from the moment I switched it on, it was buzzing. I played around with the picture mode settings and the only setting I could use without it buzzing was dynamic, even then, if the picture was dark/black it buzzed. Also, if I reduced the backlight setting from 20 to 19, again it buzzed. At first, it was diagnosed as a faulty PSU, but alas, changing that made no difference. The next guess was a faulty panel(screen). At that point, I returned it. I have now got a Samsung LE40C650, having paid the difference for the larger model, and its perfect. I did'nt really want a 40 inch, 37 inch was plenty big enough, but at least it dosn't buzz, so its worth the extra. Have you noticed reviews of the LE40C650 do not mention buzzing at all. I think, Samsung should come clean and admit a problem with certain panel versions, fitted to the 37 inch model. Because, it was a month of hassle I could have well done without.
Don,t get me wrong, Samsung are great value tv's, I would'nt have got another otherwise, but I would give the LE37C650 a miss.Samsung LE37C650 37-inch Widescreen Full HD 1080p 100Hz Motion Plus Allshare Internet LCD TV with Freeview HD

5.0 out of 5 stars It is about the picture 3 July 2010
    By Drkwms
I must have spent months making my decision on what I wanted to replace my old Pansonic wide screen CRT. Every time I thought I had made my mind up the models changed, technology moved on .. it was all very difficult.

The new "c" series samsung LE37C650 just tipped it for me between the similar spec'd Sony and Pansonic and I am really very pleased.

There are a few comments here about buzzing capacitors - not on my set so perhaps it was an early production problem.

The picture is superb. I saw this set side by side with the equivalent LED set UE37C6530 and I would seriously challenge the extra money. There is very little difference between edge LED backlight and CCFL backlight, the claimed contrast ratio differences just do not seem to stack up - ask to see them side by side in store (and then buy online!!) and you will find it tough to differentiate.

The sound on this tv is very good. I use a 5.1 system on a lot of stuff but find the standard speakers are more than acceptable and quite surprising for such a narrow body.

The USB ports are excellent for playing MP3 and video, there is a port that will power a USB hard drive and it is easy to navigate through your folders to play music. Same ease with pictures and video. The internet connectivity is ok but not a major plus point to make a selection upon, the decision should always be visual quality and that is without a doubt stunning.

    Very happy with this product.
