This is a very good smart phone the amoled screen is very sharp and bright, the phone really fast and responsive. To show your battery level tap the top of the screen. The new OS is very good, you need a hands on in a shop to truly appreciate it, very slick with everything at a glance up front and viewable.Good Facebook integration, email and calendar management and text messaging which is done as a conversation so you see what has been said. The hub concept works well and the live tiles are genius. Entertainment gaming and music and video are well catered for, Xbox live integration and the Zune music player are excellent. Nice office integration, documents can be saved to online storage straight from the phone as can photos and video taken on the phone.

Only negatives currently no cut and paste but this is coming very soon, and the positioning of the camera button on the bottom right side is accidentally pressed often, luckily there is a back button.

The on screen keyboard takes getting use to but this review was typed on the phone without any problems.

Hardware review:

Very study. There's a reason why most phones aren't made of glass (like the iphone is). I dropped the omnia 7 onto concrete from a low height whilst sitting down on a bench... id made a small dent which i don't even notice but its better than a crack! The screen is by far the prettiest available. The phone is quite large, which can be annoying sometimes, but the large screen is lovely so its worth it.

How is it different to the Iphone?
In terms of processors and RAM, they are pretty similar. The Omnia 7 has a lower resolution screen, but it is still very high and it is better in terms of colour reproduction- blacks are actually black, so when using the phone in the dark, don't see any backlight. However gradients, which I mean by colours changing gradually over a screen do not look good, which is rarely a problem.

My main hesitation with buying this phone was the 8gb of memory. This is just not a problem i've found, although it would be nice to be able to load up the phone with plenty of videos, i've got enough music on my phone (and a zune pass which means i can stream music to my heart's content), and i've got podcast apps which means I don't keep hours worth of podcasts on the device anymore but stream them too.

Software:

(This phone runs an operating system of windows phone 7. Other phone operating systems for phones include 'android', which is very popular and run by google, which like microsoft make NO phones but only the software)

Windows Phone 7 is very immature at the moment. Saying that, its been out for only 3/4 months, and there is no shortage of TOP QUALITY apps! Negative points: apps are expensive (good games are now about £2.50 on average) and apps are not speedy to load.

Great screen, brilliant size. Easy to use menus. Great for documents and emails. Camera is lovely to use. Zune is fab and can add music, photos and videos from own collection. Storage is inadequate if you use the video camera extensively. Has no capacity to increase. Also doesn't seem to have video playback in areas of no wi-fi reception. (A big problem in the Highlands)!
My biggest gripe is not being able to use music as ringtones. The ringtone selection supplied is better than average with a reasonable choice but.....!
My phone was strangely silent and I kept having missed calls, I'd accidently turned off the volume on the side (very easy done). The vibrate alert is once!
Battery life not so good, needs charged every day if used, every second day if used sparingly.
Another moan - Bing is the unchangeable search engine. I know how much microsoft value their products so wasn't really surprised. You can use google on the internet explorer but that involves a longer process.
I'm a bit loathe to use for internet shopping as there is no indication of how secure my phone is.
Having started to review this phone I concluded that it was actually worth more stars than initially given.

I got this phone on a contract with three and everyone who I have shown it off to agrees that at £17 a month is a bargain for such a capable smart phone. The operating system is the most important thing on this device and the new mango update for windows phone 7 is a massive improvement on the previous version. The operating system offers many features found on other microsoft operating systems and devices such as office, zune, bing and Xbox live integration.

Overall the phone is a good looking handset with a nice solid feel and hard ware buttons for volume, lock/ turn on/ off, and a camera button with half press for auto focus. It has a nice metal finish on the back which add to the good build quality. However this surface is not very practical as it is very slippery and I found myself dropping the handset on many occasions during my first week of use.

The office hub, as Microsoft like to call it, does not have as many editing features as I would have hoped and the interface, when compared with apple's pages leaves a bit to be desired. But the ability to sync one note files and pin them to the start is a great feature.

The phone itself is very fast in all respects both in processing power and in data speed. I have found my Samsung omnia 7 competing with my friend's iPhone 4 for data speed and winning the majority of the time thanks to the omnia's 3.5G compatibility paired with threes excellent 3G coverage. I also found the 4.0 inch super amoled capacitive touch screen very fast with the processor. The device performs well with a number of 2d graphics However some games with better 3d graphics can become slightly laggy if a lot of applications are open in the background.

Due to the 4.
