I treated myself to this unit after my last Samsung died and started swallowing DVDs. When the huge box arrived I was excited and set about setting it up. Once it was up & running I was impressed by the new display, which looked like something from Battlestar Glactica. The sound was predictably good and filled my small groundfloor living room. The look is fabulous and it rounds off my 1970's theme nicely, with its globe Bass speaker.
My first gripe was when I tried to switch off remotely... and the bass unit switched itself back on immediately, triggering the control unit and TV both to switch on too!! It took 3 attempts to switch it off and I used the wall plug eventually. The next time I switched on, the problem seemed solved by a re-boot.
The unit seemed erratic when choosing whether to show me the display menu on TV or not and the remote seemed to have a mind of its own too; when using it to operate TV, it randomly switched unit Sources too... My iPod simply was not operational via the unit or TV as advertised in the manual and I was lucky if my track-listings appeared on screen... though mostly they did not. The refusal to switch OFF has returned too, completing my frustration with this unit. A good looker, great sounding, but erratic technology!
Unfortunately in my excitement I threw away all packaging, otherwise this unit would have been returned by now. Instead I have grown used to switching it off 3 times each night before retiring. Sometimes a wireless Smart Hub just isn't as smart as it thinks!
