Having done extensive research I purchased this system to compliment my Samsung 46 D8000 TV and what a disappointment it turned out to be.
No issues with the build quality and appearance which is a very attractive polished gloss black, and setting up was straight forward - but from the onset lip-sync problems appeared which couldn't be corrected with the delay function, I had to resort to switching the unit off and back on again to rectify.
I wasn't blown away with the sound quality either, the centre dialogue channel seemed to lack clarity, and for a 1000 watt system it didn't exactly make the earth move.
On the plus side it was convenient being able to control the TV with the surround sound remote and visa versa, together with auto power off and shutdown.
Taking into account the price and the fact it was a like branded product, the lip-sync problem was too much for me to put up with and I returned the unit to Amazon for a refund - which was straightforward, though the nominated courier was a nightmare and missed the arranged pick up date twice.
A word of warning - like I imagine most people would, I placed the centre speaker on top of the amp unit and it left nasty scratches all over it!

Received the system promptly from Amazon. It looks really nice. In about 10-15 minutes I had the whole system setup and connected, ran the auto calibration using the supplied microphone, this sets up the volume levels for all the speakers. Connected to the Sky HD cable using a Duronic Optical cable. The system sounds awesome and the sounds are very life like. I would fully recommend it. Strongly recommend to get the wireless module SW-5000 for the rear surround speakers.

Excellent product.
A little slow to load discs but once loaded the picture quality is fantastic.
The surround sound quality is very good for the price though not a good as a dedicated sound system it's more than adequate for movies.
The 3d performance is pretty good too, mine is connected to a 51" Samsung 3d tv and they work well together.
To get tv sound through the amp you'll need to get an optical Digital cable around cost £10.
I had problems connecting it to the internet in the end it turned out that my old asus network switch was not upto the job i discovered this by swaping to my zyxel gigabit switch which managed to get the signal to the HT-D5500.
The odd thing which threw me was my laptop and PC were able to use the same wired network connection to connect to the net.
Which shows the HT-D5500 needs a strong wired connection either directly from your router or through a quality network switch which can provide adequate power for lon network runs. My cable run is around 50 meters.
Once the network is working it's fantastic iplayer in HD is excellent as are the other services music etc all for free and in excellent quality/

Great purchase
Item as described, has a very good surround sound. I received it very quickly and can reccommend it for anyone looking for a good home cinema surround sound.

Samsung blu-ray cinema system.
