Owned one of these now for about a year or so now, for the money it certainly sounds as good as units costing more or with better specs, plus of course it looks quite sleek and sexy. Don't really play dvds or cds, but do use the iPod interface, sound is good, but the interface requires you to have the TV running in order to see through the menus, small point but...... It also has the usb interface, this can read files from flash cards, and will play music and AVI (only) files, which it does very well indeed. However, you will need to do the occasional firmware update to update the codecs. Some things it won't do, it won't play any video file other than AVI, it won't read external HDD units, it does play dvds and cds very well but the loading mechanism is very slow.
The amp is fan cooled, which is a bit noisey, but not enough to be a nuisance. The HDMI interface works well, however its tricky trying to get the SPdif interface from the TV to work, gave up in the end and used the units aux port, its one of those cases where whoever designed this unit, did so to a budget, it almost delivers what it could, if that makes sense. Still, it looks good and sounds good, and does a good job. Its simple to set up, and has been reliable.
No doubt there are better systems available, but as a good looking well performing 2.1 system that fits within a tight audio budget, this unit is worth considering.
