SAMSUNG BLU RAY HOME CINEMA,
By
This review is from: Samsung HT-C5500 Blu-Ray 5.1 ch Home Cinema System - Wireless Rear Speaker Ready (Electronics)
I only purchased this item because I already had a Samsung HD television and wanted to keep everything related and I am glad that I did. The actual components are nicely designed and look very modern. Fitting the system took all of about 15 minutes thanks to the excellent instructions and ease of connections on the components. Setting up the home theatre with the tv is very easy, you follow the simple instructions and press the button and it automatically does it for you. Once set up you can control the whole system with one handset. The various options available on the menu are very good and again are very easy to enter. The sound offered from this unit is incredible and does feel like true surround sound home cinema - action films are superb! I would recommend this particular model to anyone.

Had my Unit now for quite a while and it is used daily, and I concur with all other reviewrs here with what they said about this unit.... I bought the Wireless speaker receiver and that works just great with it.
I do not, and never have, used TV's built in speakers as they are all inferior... Simple to set up, and if connected to the internet - I have mines plugged into the router via an ethernet cable as my router is close by... it will update you with the Firmware update. I found the Eject button on the unit itself will not function, but not a great deal as I just use the remote control anyway... and it saves seeing sticky fingerprints on the front of the unit anyway... not very nice to see on a Black unit eh? Sub Woofer IS very Boomy!... but overall the sound is amazing... First film watched was Avatar, and I swear that the couch was shaking! Sound effects was just mind blowingly clear, and I have had a few surround systems in my time, but this one takes first price. Picture quality was amazing, but you have three reasons for that --- Your TV - Blu-Ray disc - Blu-Ray player.... No one can say that this player alone is responsible for the Picture quality! I have very decent HDMI and Optical cables attached, also bought from Amazon - (see my other reviews) so they too have an effect on how this unit performs. It does take a wee while to suss out all the functions, but you will find if you read the maunual as you go, you will soon suss out what is what and you will have everything set up the way you like it in no time at all. Just dont jump from section to section because you want to suss out what interests you first... take your time and start from page one and you will get there a lot quicker. People having problems with Anynet or BD Live should take note of that, as I had no problem whatsoever by reading the manual one page at a time and sussing out that section before moving to the next... its the only way folks! I have already recomended this unit to several friends and family, so that should speak volumes... For Quality and price. It really is a great system for the price, and I find it a lot better that the more expensive one's I have had in the past. You will not be disapointed buying this unit, so buy with confidence!

Wow....just wow...,

I'm sorry but whatever anyone says no matter how packed full of functions, high quality or future proof this type of product is, it is not worth its salt if it lacks on the style front! You want your mates to come in and say "Wow"..and Samsung have not disappointed with this blu ray home cinema system. It is an gorgeously designed piece of kit and looks fantastic connected up.
It was easy to set up, well packaged and the majority of my time was spent hiding cables around the room. The system itself does everything it sells itself to be. Connected it up to Sky HD box and X-Box 360 with an optical splitter and it excels in sound quality. And it looks beautiful! The last Samsung surround I purchased was quite disappointing as there was a severe lack of audio options but there are many adjustments that can be made here (the option that stabilises the sound is great if like me you live in a flat and dont want an asbo - you can enjoy at fairly low volumes without upsetting your neighbours!) Just a couple of VERY minor points: 1) The subwoofer is a wee bit hard to tame but I saw a hint to put some socks or something in the back section to take some of the impact out of it.. 2) The i-pod dock is an excellent feature is nice but it doesnt import album artwork across which is a bit lazy considering the quality 3) Not much internet TV content...youtube is about it...until BBCi-player etc comes to town it is hardly worth the hassle (dont be rushing out to buy wireless dongles!). But they are all just very very minor quibbles. The Samsung Blu Ray Surround Sound comes highly recommended... JP
