5.0 out of 5 stars A NIFTY, VERSATILE PHONE! 23 Aug. 2010
I had tried a smart phone, but found myself getting frustrated with just how sensitive the touch screen was. This phone gives me what I want. The qwerty keyboard, although with small digits, is easy enough to use, and a better option than traditional texting. The screen may be smaller than the touch screen phones, but if your camera/video shots are simply for impromptu use then it is adequate. Internet use is easy to navigate and pretty efficient.

The only negative I can see is that if you are a person with 'chunky' fingers then this may not be the phone for you. The letters are close together, and whilst I have no problem with this, others could find they end up hitting 2 letters instead of one.

5.0 out of 5 stars really good 8 Mar. 2011
By cococo
this phone is perfect. I wasn't expecting it to be that good because it is only £50 and a few bad reviews.
When it first arrived, it kept freezing, turning of randomly and not letting me use applications. I was tempted to return it within the first hour of receiving it but i went on the samsung website and it told me i needed to wipe the battery and after that it has been perfect. the keyboard is fine to type with. at first its a little difficult but after a day, typing was so much easier and the typing game is good for practising. the camera is good and you can have more than one phone call at the same time. unlocking it is simple once you get used to where the button is. you can customise when the keyboard light is on. overall, i would definitely reccomend this phone to anyone. if you feel something isnt working as it should, go onto the samsung website - it really helps.

2.0 out of 5 stars More cons than pros 27 Oct. 2010
Bought this on the grounds that it's got a low(ish) price & thought it might be easy to text with but unless you've got cocktail sticks for fingers it's too much of a struggle. The keys really are too small & too close together - I spend half my time deleting typo's in my messages making it slower than a conventional mobile keyboard (there's no predictive text option.)

Another problem is the internet browsing, it seemed to work OK for a week or so but is now constantly telling me there's 'Not enough memory' to load pages, despite deleting cookies, clearing cache & inserting a large capacity memory card. The manual is awful & the website's no help either.

But the MOST annoying thing with it is what, on the face of it, should be only a minor niggle - The keyboard auto-lock function is either ON or OFF, there's no way of changing the time delay before it comes on & it comes on FAR TOO QUICKLY ! I constantly find it locking the keyboard whilst I'm in the middle of composing text messages & even reading text messages ! Believe me, this gets extremely annoying when it's happened for the umpteenth time. OK you could turn it off but I'd rather not make random calls whilst it's jiggling about in my pocket (Maaatron !)

Overall, this is one to avoid - save your money for a Blackberry, they're out soon for Vodaphone PAYG customers.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great cheap version of a Blackberry 1 Feb. 2012
By RCUK
This is a really fantastic phone for the price (though I got mine for about £30 - I probably wouldn't pay more than £50).

It does all the normal things - calling and texting - without any fuss or difficulty. Some people have said the keys are too small or close together which is probably true for some people, though you get used to it.

It has a camera which is fine if you just want to take occasional shots.

The internet is slow but it does work and it's fairly easy to navigate. The shortcut to Facebook is useful (though Bebo?! Not so much). If you like to browse the internet a lot though, I probably wouldn't choose this phone.

It has a selection of ringtones which are all ok. You can also change your profile to suit you. The FM radio is quite handy as well, and I don't think you can get that on a Blackberry.

Overall, for the price it's a good buy. I didn't want to splash out on a smartphone so a cheap version was the only option for me, but I actually really like this phone. It does everything I want it to without difficulty. And you get a set of headphones and three alternative covers for it - woohoo!
