I bought this as it had a score of 77% in the Which reviews, and also it was significantly cheaper than the other microwaves with the grill function. It was to replace a very basic microwave I bought in 1995(!!) that had just stopped working properly. The grill is very good - it will cook a steak very nicely, and you can use it together with the microwave function to cook crispy baked potatoes (previously they were always a bit soggy and I used to get lots of condensation in the machine). General heating of food is very efficient and it heats food evenly. It is bigger than I thought it would be, and needs alot of space around it, which could be a disadvantage if you don't have much space, or you want to put it under a shelf etc. It meeds 20cm (8in) above, 10cm (4in) behind and 10 cm to each side, plus it needs to be 85cm above the floor. This is not made clear on many of the websites selling this model. Also you have to be a little careful when setting it as it is easy to overshoot with the timing, though this is a minor issue.
Generally this does what it says on the tin and is very good value for money. It even has a self cleaning function - though I haven't used that yet and it is easy to wipe round. It is also relatively quiet, and it reminds you if you haven't removed the food with a quick beep every minute or so. I don't know how it is with defrosting as I haven't done this yet, though again the Which reviews are positive. It will cook at 900watts or 650 watts, and is easy to get to grips with the controls. The instructions are comprehensive and give you the wattage and timing for lots of different types of foods and liquids. So far nothing has boiled over etc!!
All in all a great machine plus it is good looking and easy to keep clean on the outside.

This oven cooks quite quickly and evenly, I am quite pleased about the grill function, and baked potatoes come out really tasty and not shrivelled up. I managed to cook a salmon fillet and potato at the same time with good result, although I finished off the potato separately. It is easy to clean due to the swing downable grill element so that you can clean the roof of the oven. It is also roomy inside (the turntable is 12 and one half inches wide) and you can switch off the turntable to fit awkward shaped containers in. However they could have made the cooking time control more easy to use; instead of having separate buttons for 10 minutes, 1 minutes, 10 seconds etc like my old Panasonic, there are only two buttons, plus and minus. You press once to change by 10 seconds and press and hold to change by whole minutes, but they fly by so you have to be quick on the draw. Build quality is reasonable for the price.

I think it's about time I wrote a review since I am heavily dependent on other people's reviews whenever I buy anything these days!
My 10+ yrs fancy Panasonic packed up suddenly without warning. I only ever used it to heat up food, so really I just wanted a basic microwave oven to replace it with. When I started looking, I realised that the solo microwaves on the market now are tiny compared to what I have got used to. After an hour's research I settled on this one because it had the matching colour combination for my kitchen and the solo version of this product had brilliant reviews. It only cost a few quid more, but for that it came with 5 litres extra capacity and additional features that I might need to use one day (you never know). It's still quite a bit smaller than my old microwave but I didn't want another Panasonic and it's the biggest I could find in the price range.
I didn't find any reviews, so I took a leap of faith based on the product line. So far, I have not been disappointed although I have not tested the grill etc and maybe never will. Hope it lasts.
