Digital Image Stabilisation: The camera makes thousands of adjustments a second, enabling you to take ultra clear images without blur – even in low light conditions. Face Detection: Each time you click, your camera automatically recognises if there is a face in the shot. It then optimises the focus and exposure of up to 11 faces for stunning, natural looking portraits and group shots. Blink Detection: this function detects when a subjects eyes are closed and triggers the camera to automatically take three shots in order to capture the eyes open. Smile Detection: ensures that no happy moments are missed by taking the shot automatically when smiles are detected. Photo Help Guide: If a problem is encountered during shooting, troubleshooting instructions are provided so that image correction can be easily performed by anybody. Step-by-step instructions with simple illustration on use of the camera are provided through the LCD for user’s convenience. The Recycle Bin Function allows you to retrieve images if you've accidently deleted them. Li-on Battery, in camera charging system: Charge the battery inside the camera from a standard electrical socket or alternatively straight from a USB port connected to your computer. No need for additional charger and offers greater user flexibility. The Beauty Shot function uses face detection technology to retouch the facial skin to appear brighter and to give the impression of a smoother skin tone. This can be done either while shooting or during playback.

Samsung ES55 camera easy to use.
Good quality pictures.
Battery life excellent, never bothered to use mains adaptor, just charged via PC USB port.

Bought this as a present for my daughter's 11th birthday and geve it to her just before the party so she could take pictures of the event. She didn't even need to open the manual, as all the menu's are pretty intuitive and technology doesn't seem to phase kids these day! By the end of the party she'd worked out how play back the pictures as a slide show with party music! Picture quality looks excellent, and the 2 meg Scandisk chip I bought with it means she won't be bothering me very often to doawnload onto the computer. Smart little camera - may have to steal it myself on occassion!

Broken in 18 months!
Unfortunately this camera has broken after only 18 months. The zoom will not come out when it is switched on and therefore it cannot take pictures.

not a great camera
