This is similar to the E2121 bar phone I bought a while back (there are some differences though)
As a flip phone the E1270 is pretty basic in every respect, but offers budget buyers a stunning battery life and surprisingly robust build (I've dropped this countless times and it's still going strong!)

There are a few improvements on previous models, but they are quite modest overall. This isn't the phone to buy for feature fans, but if you are looking for a budget sim free handset which just does the basics.

Pros:
+ Awesome battery life, if you are not a heavy call user you'll get weeks out of it on standby
+ Call quality is fine, no problems hearing people or speaking
+ Reception works well too, no notable issues to date with picking up my provider
+ 3.5mm standard headphone jack, at last Samsung got the message no more proprietary inputs!
+ Quite slim and whilst the keypad is a simple moulded affair it's not caused any issues for texting or making calls
+ Has a radio, which is at least something that I find very useful
+ Comes with some pretty basic games, applications like calendar and alarms
+ Dual band GSM (900 / 1800MHZ)
+ The 1.77" LCD is fairly basic 160 x 128 resolution, colours a bit better at 65k.

I initially bought this to tide me over when I dropped my Galaxy Note 2 and it died, but now it's just taken it's place instead! Fair enough, there are no data features or email support, but it calls and texts like a mobile should!

The first thing I realised when using it for the first time, is just how fast it is. After using Android for the last 5 years, it made a refreshing change to use something that just *does* what you ask it to, without the fancy transition effects etc.

Boots in about 10 seconds (quicker than most smart phones) turns off (no matter what you're doing) in about 2. Texting is a joy, I've missed T9 and I'd tried most other cheap phones before this one, and the keypad is excellent.

I have big hands, yet I can text with speed and accuracy and the buttons all have the same pressure required for them to register (a very common problem with similar phones, makes texting an ordeal in itself).

The screen is not too bad, it's bright enough and everything is very clear.

The speakers, leave something to be desired though. While phone conversations are crisp and clear, the speaker that provides the ringtones is fairly poor. It's not very loud and distorts on high volume. The vibrate function however, more than makes up for this. It's probably louder than the ringer when on a hard surface!

The only other negative, is that the hinge is a little slack, when I mean a little; I do mean a little. It's not by any means weak, it just shuffles half a millimetre to the left or right when closed, and in hand. More of a nitpick than a negative. I'm overly critical of everything.

Oh... one more thing. The battery will probably last you a week... with decent use. It's incredible.

Now with that said. You likely wont find a better phone for the same price (new at least).

Besides, what's better than ending an annoying call with a satisfying *CLACK*?

Nice little phone with only a few minor problems, sadly this means only worth 3 stars.
Reasonable choice or ring tones but I want one that sounds like a phone ringing not music being played. Surely a simple "ring, ring" would not be hard to offer. Missed a few calls at the beginning as I did not know it was my phone!
Secondly my old phone which was very much like this one would give an occasional beep every now and then if you had a text or had a missed call. This one you have to check every now and then to see whats on screen. I work with power tools and often miss a call if they are powered up .
Good points are that the charge is pretty quick and lasts for about a week. Being a clam shell phone you do not press buttons by mistake and the quality of sound is good for calls.
Over all its a nice , easy to use phone

The instruction guide supplied and the download version is very basic but it will get you started.
It does not have as many features as some but as a text and talk phone it is ideal.
The screen is a reasonable size and the key pad buttons are well sized with no overlap onto others when texting or dialling. The flip over design means that there are no buttons accidentally pressed when closed and in a pocket.
A good basic phone for texts and calls and suitable for all.

This phone is very easy to set up.My Virgin s.i.m worked perfectly and of course I was able to keep my number. If you carry your phone in a pocket,as I do,you will be tired of the open face type phones squeaking and bleeping as the keys are accidentally pressed. Another advantage of this phone is that it is charged by a mini u.s.b port. I wish I had bought this type before. The operating system is a joy to use.
