Manufacturer's Description

The compact 2 Mega Pixel Digimax 201 is supported by 8 Mega Bytes of internal memory, and upgradeable through an SD / MMC card, so you won't have to worry about running out of memory when you need it most.

The Digimax 201 also has a 2 x digital zoom to get you close to your subject and preview and review is instant on the camera's colour TFT LCD monitor. Three focusing modes for even greater variety include "Portrait", "Normal" and "Macro".

Five Flash modes make it possible for you to choose the best way to illuminate your subject, depending on shooting conditions. Other useful features such as the programmable exposure and five white balance modes help you achieve great results.

You can also capture moments in motion with the Digimax 201's onboard movie clip facility which is only limited to how much memory is available.

Image play-back on the camera's TFT LCD monitor or an external monitor can be displayed as either single images, thumbnails, a slide-show or movie clip. Download is fast and easy via USB and there is also a helpful and useful software package for further creative manipulation.

I bought this Camera as a basic point-and-shoot model for web photos and e-mail attachments. As such is fulfils its purpose. In many ways this is a great product although image quality is not up to Nikon/Canon standards (what do you expect at this price?). In summary:

Good Points
- very low price for 2MP camera (Samsung even offer a free 32Meg card - see their website for details. This offer is for a limited time).
- it comes with a case
- very compact and feels robust
- the LCD is a decent size and is fairly bright
- movies are NOT limited to 30 seconds or so, unlike most cameras
- intuitive controls and great user interface
- you can also use it as portable disc for transferring data from PC to PC (for example Word files)

Bad Points
- Fixed focus lens is a bit of a pain
- useless digital zoom only offers 1x or 2x (ie not variable)
- struggles with difficult lighting. I find that I often have to adjust the exposure manually.
- Image quality is not great. Colours seem a flat, especially reds.

to put it in short, this is an unbelievably good camera, all the features listed are great, it is easy to carry, and to use, and processing the pictures is very easy. just buy it and see for yourself
