Striking and extremely compact, the 1.3 million pixel Digimax 101 has all the features you would usually find in higher resolution cameras, to give you great results.

A 2 x Digital Zoom gets you close to your subject and you can preview and review your captured images straight away, in a variety of formats, on the bright colour TFT LCD monitor, without having to wait until you have downloaded them to a PC.

Helpful features to give you great results are 6 modes for White Balance and both Auto and programmable exposure. Four flash modes will help you capture your subjects in their best light.

There is also an onboard movie clip facility, the recording time being limited only to the amount of memory available. A self-timer allows the photographer to also be in the action!

Images are stored on the Digimax 101's 8 MB internal memory or on an SD / MMC card so you won't have to worry about running out of memory.

Download is quick and easy via USB and images can also be played back on an external monitor via NTSC / PAL connection. The Digimax 101 also comes with useful software so the fun does not stop with taking photos.

I decided to buy a next level-up digital camera after receiving a very small, £35, but very unreliable mini digital camera as a present.

After searching around various sites and shops I came across the Digimax 101, it had all the features I was looking for in a simple point and shoot camera.

The camera is of high quality and feels solid in your hand. A great attention to detail has been paid to the design of the camera, examples being the spring loaded battery/memory hatch which holds itself open to allow easy access and the satisfying click when you insert the memory card.

The pictures are of a good quality (at the highest setting) are very good for a simple camera and produces 6x4 prints on photo paper as good as a 35mm camera. An additional memory card is a very good idea, for an extra £25 you can store about 110 best quality pictures or about 7mins of video.

The camera is mall enough to fit in your pocket to take out for an evening and with the flash you WILL remember what you did the night before, the menu system is also easy to use. Rechargable batteries are a must.

Overall I found the camera to be great value and quality for money and with the Flash, LCD screen, video capture and the ability to veiw the pictures/video straight on the TV it comes with a great number of features. If you are looking for a camera which produces fantastic pictures and professional prints this probably isn't for you, but if you're after a fun, take anywhere and simple camera this is the one.

After alot of thought, I decided to buy a Digital Camera and too be honest wished I'd of not bothered, the picture quality is terrible compared to my normal camera that cost £35. The prints from Boots are about twice the price too as a normal camera, so very disapointed, I think with Digital cameras there are good ones but you have to be prepared to pay, these cheap ones are just very bad quality pics. Word of advice to people thinking of buying this camera, don't bother. Either Pay more or stick with your old camera you'll find its better.
